About This Software

Pad2Mouse

Use your PS DualSense or Xbox controller as a mouse and keyboard on Windows. Lives quietly in the system tray, automatically steps aside in fullscreen games, ships with zero dependencies — double-click and go.

Ideal for browsing from the couch, watching videos, driving an HTPC, or operating Windows when a mouse isn't handy.

Key Features

  • Left stick → mouse movement: radial deadzone, exponential curve, time-based linear acceleration. The longer you hold, the faster it tracks; release to the deadzone and motion stops instantly. Precision comparable to a gaming mouse.

  • Right stick → scroll wheel: vertical scrolling with adjustable speed and sub-pixel accumulation for jitter-free output.

  • Configurable button mapping: L2 / R2 / Square / Triangle / Cross / Circle / L3 / R3 can each be reassigned from the main UI; changes save instantly.

  • D-Pad → arrow keys: makes navigating menus, reading PDFs, and paging through docs effortless.

  • Controller combos:

    • L1 + R1: toggle the built-in on-screen keyboard, no need to reach for a physical one

    • Share + Options: snap the cursor to the center of the primary display — a lifesaver when it gets lost across multiple monitors

    • L3 + R3: enable / pause mapping at any time without touching the UI

  • Fullscreen auto-yield: any foreground window that covers the entire monitor (exclusive fullscreen, borderless fullscreen, D3D, presentation mode, PowerPoint, etc.) disables mapping automatically. A process whitelist allows exceptions. Maximized windows and the empty desktop do not count as fullscreen.

  • Concurrent multi-controller: USB and Bluetooth, PlayStation and Xbox can be connected at the same time — all of them drive the same cursor.

Supported Controllers

  • PS DualSense

    • DualSense Edge is fully supported

  • Xbox controllers (XInput)

    • Third-party controllers that implement the XInput protocol

Multiple controllers can be connected simultaneously; all of them drive the same cursor.

Important Notes

  • Pad2Mouse uses the standard Windows SendInput API to simulate input. It is not compatible with online competitive games that use kernel-mode anti-cheat (VAC, EAC, BattlEye, etc.). When you launch such a game, either close Pad2Mouse or rely on its fullscreen guard to auto-disable mapping.

  • Single-player games, desktop applications, video players, browsers, PowerPoint, and similar use cases are entirely unaffected.

  • The software is fully offline, collects no telemetry, and does not require administrator privileges.
