The game depicts a military conflict between two factions, featuring real-time strategy and third-person shooter combat. Units can fire weapons and destroy enemy vehicles or soldiers, but there is no graphic blood, gore, or realistic dismemberment. Defeated units simply explode or disappear.

The narrative, which is largely delivered through optional textual lore items discovered in the levels, explores mature philosophical, geopolitical, and bioethical themes such as transhumanism, human experimentation, and ideological warfare.
