About This Game

💾 Disk Space is Your HP: Turn-Based Storage Defense

It's 1989. You are defending a vintage PC system under severe storage pressure. The incoming files flooding your directories are not static inventory items—they are active invaders that grow, duplicate, and corrupt your system resources. If your free capacity (freeKb) hits zero, the system triggers a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and your run terminates.

FINAL_FINAL.zip combines tactical turn-based wave defense with deep RPG stat layers, command revision masteries, and TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) card deck building.

Key Features:

  • Tactical Command Combat: Battle incoming file waves using core prompt verbs. DEL files to vaporize them, or PKZIP them into compressed archives. Every action consumes Action Points (AP) and relies on Scan Accuracy (ACC) rolls—be prepared to miss when the pressure is high!

  • Unique Invader Behaviors: Counter distinct file threats. BLOAT files grow in size every cycle; FORK files spawn rapid clones; CRC mines damage your scan accuracy; and SWARM invaders attack in dense batches. Target your threats wisely!

  • The Critical Core Dilemma: Fragile core assets like or AUTOEXEC.BAT take up massive disk space. You can sacrifice them for emergency room, but doing so inflicts permanent system debuffs (severe accuracy penalties, speed drops) and activates a timed system halt countdown.

  • Upgrade Through PC Eras (286 → 386 → 486): Earn BITS to upgrade your hardware across computing history. Progress from the 286 era's 360KB single drive, to the 386's high-density 1.44MB B: drive, and eventually to the 486's high-capacity HDD and Windows 3.1 GUI multitasking windows.

  • Synergize Your TSR Loadouts: Load background utility (TSR) cards to configure your command stats: FILES (multi-target cap), CACHE (free turn command tempo), SCAN (accuracy roll), and BUFFER (inflow damage reduction shield).

  • Atmospheric DOS Interface: A fully interactive vintage file manager featuring authentic mechanical keyboard sound effects, retro CRT simulation filters, and detailed diagnostic logs.
