Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access for Spectrends because the core time-loop and rescue mechanics are already playable and fun, but we want to refine them with real player input. This approach lets us gather feedback on story branches, multiplayer balance (up to 8 players), spectral visual effects, and performance on low-end laptops while we continue development. It gives us the opportunity to build the game together with the community rather than in isolation, ensuring the final experience feels polished, accessible, and true to the dream/time/rescue themes in a rainy modern city setting.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Spectrends to remain in Early Access for several months to around a year, depending on the pace of iteration, community feedback, and how quickly we can expand and polish the experience. We will move to full release once the core narrative, mechanics, and scope feel complete and well-balanced.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the narrative with additional story arcs, character resolutions, and deeper dream/rescue sequences. We plan to add more city districts to explore, new rescue scenarios, and expanded time-manipulation mechanics. We plan to introduce additional multiplayer modes and co-op features, refine the low-poly stylized visuals and spectral effects, and deliver a full original soundtrack. Overall scope will grow through more replayability options, easter eggs, and quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback. The final version should feel like a richer, more complete journey while keeping the accessible, low-spec optimized experience intact.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Spectrends features a fully functional time-loop system. Players can explore a playable district, interact with NPCs, make meaningful choices that affect subsequent loops, and engage in core rescue mechanics tied to dream themes. Low-poly stylized 3D visuals and effects run smoothly on budget laptops with integrated graphics. Single-player campaign and basic multiplayer support (up to 8 players) are available. The foundational story elements and atmosphere are present, with room for expansion based on community input.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We’re planning on changing the price when we leave Early Access. Early supporters will receive the full completed game at largely discounted price. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through active Steam Discussions, a dedicated Discord server, regular dev update posts, organized playtest sessions, and periodic surveys. Player feedback on gameplay mechanics, story pacing, multiplayer balance, performance on low-end hardware, and overall experience will directly shape update priorities and new feature decisions. We believe the best version of Spectrends will come from listening to players who are passionate about time-loop narratives and atmospheric rescue stories.”
