What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We've been passionately building Venus: The Last Ascent as a small indie team for the past three years. Now, we're ready to open the doors to players and shape the future of the game together. Early Access gives us the perfect opportunity to gather real-world feedback, improve core features, and steer the development of new content with input from the community. Your ideas, creativity, and playstyles will help guide us toward the best version of Venus possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to deliver a refined, feature-rich experience, and that takes time—especially with your feedback in the loop. We expect Venus to remain in Early Access for at least one year, ensuring there’s enough room to expand systems, polish gameplay, and integrate major updates without rushing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Venus will evolve significantly throughout Early Access. We're planning substantial content updates, including:
• Many more hours of gameplay
• A wide range of new Modules
• Additional biomes and cavernes
• Additional quests
• Additional tools
• Additional weapons
The Early Access version will grow steadily with community-driven improvements, optimizations, and surprises along the way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The foundation is already solid. The current version includes:
• Over 60 modules to build your physics-based HUB Machine
• A suite of hi-tech tools and wild weapons to experiment with
• Roughly 10+ hours of content, with more coming regularly
Please note: Venus is still in beta. Bugs, balancing, and polish are ongoing—but so are updates! We'll continuously ship improvements and content guided by our development roadmap and your feedback.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. As Venus expands with new features and content, the price will gradually increase to reflect the added value. Jump in early to be part of the journey—and help shape what it becomes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is at the heart of our Early Access approach. We believe the best version of Venus: The Last Ascent will be shaped hand-in-hand with the players. Here’s how we plan to involve you:
• Open Feedback Channels: Whether it's through the Steam forums, Discord, social media, or in-game feedback tools, we’ll be actively listening to your thoughts, bug reports, and suggestions.
• Frequent Updates: We’ll release regular updates and devlogs that share what we're working on, what changes are coming, and which ideas from the community are influencing our roadmap.
• Community Voting & Polls: We'll occasionally host polls to help prioritize features, new parts, or gameplay improvements—your voice will help guide what comes next.
• Playtesting Opportunities: For bigger features or overhauls, we may invite players to test beta builds and give feedback before we roll out updates to everyone.
• Showcasing Creations: We love seeing what the community builds, and plan to highlight standout creations, and machines in our updates and channels.
Early Access isn’t just about playing the game early—it’s about building it with us. We’re excited to explore, experiment, and evolve Venus with you along for the ride.

About This Game

Build a massive physics-driven fortress on wheels, survive the surface of Venus, and fight your way to the last city above the clouds.

Venus: The Last Ascent is a physics-based survival game where your base is also your vehicle. You keep moving, hauling a fortress of guns, farms, drills, and shields across the planet. Think tower defense, except the tower has wheels and never stops.

But everything on Venus wants your energy. Solar-powered war machines, abandoned here generations ago, wake up at sunrise and come for your reactors. You hold them off, scavenge what's left of them, and keep rolling.

FEATURES

BUILD A ROLLING FORTRESS

Every component you bolt on does something: tools, weapons, power, oxygen, storage, shields. You always want to build bigger. More guns, more farms, more reactors. But the physics are real, so you need to engineer the thing to actually move. A badly designed fortress gets stuck on a ridge or flips itself in a storm. Growing and staying functional is the whole game.

MINE ON THE MOVE

Cut into Venusian rock with focused light to pull out the minerals you need for upgrades. The good stuff is hidden in dangerous places, and stopping too long in the wrong spot is its own kind of risk.

FIGHT OFF THE DAY

When the sun hits, the old machines wake up. They're after your power, and they don't stop coming. Mount turrets, stand your ground, or outrun them.

EXPLORE A HOSTILE PLANET

Cross acid plains, glass deserts, and old industrial ruins. Pre-war outposts are where you find blueprints, and blueprints are how you build bigger, stranger, and more dangerous things. Logs and clues about what happened here are scattered around too, if you want to piece the story together.

REACH CLOUD CITY

The beam of light on the horizon is your only fixed point. Everything you build, mine, and fight for is in service of getting there.
