Why Early Access?

“Brick Builds is about the pleasure of making something your own. We want to develop the studio with the people who build in it, from their first few pieces to their most ambitious creations. Early Access gives us a chance to learn which controls feel awkward, which parts are missing, and how we can make instructions and community builds more useful. Your feedback will help us choose what to improve next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently estimate around two months in Early Access. This is a working estimate, and it may change as we learn from players. We want to use that time to improve the first building experience, refine instructions, and address reliability and performance before deciding the game is ready to leave Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to make the building experience more welcoming and dependable, with clearer instructions, more useful starter builds, and improvements to placement, saving, and performance. We also want to refine how players discover and learn from community creations. Additional parts and printable build sheets are possibilities we would like to explore with player feedback. These plans may change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The main game is being prepared for its Early Access launch. The current development build includes free building on three plate sizes, preset and custom colors, supported moving parts, and a named collection of your creations in My Builds. An optional guided first build introduces the controls and lets you customize what you make. You can generate and edit visual instructions, follow a guide with the pieces you need in your tray, and explore original studio builds. Steam Workshop integration supports sharing creations and viewing other builders' work in 3D.

The free demo is a separate version and does not connect to the main game's Workshop. The newest main game features are not all available in the demo.

Brick Builds is still in development. Larger creations and complex mechanisms may need further performance improvements, and automatically generated instructions need a creator's review. Printable build sheets and multiplayer are not included. Building uses a keyboard and mouse.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Brick Builds will have a lower price during Early Access. We plan to increase the price when the full version is released. If you buy during Early Access, you will keep the full game when it leaves Early Access without paying again.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would love to see what you make and hear where you get stuck. Share feedback in Steam Discussions or join our JamJam Games Discord through the link on this page. Screenshots, build files, and a few words about what you expected can help us understand a problem. We especially welcome suggestions about controls, parts, instructions, and performance with larger creations. Player feedback will help us choose and refine future improvements, and we plan to share development news through Steam announcements.”

About This Game

Build it. Change it. Make it move.

A spaceship with folding wings. A cottage that keeps getting another room. A little experiment that becomes your next big project. Brick Builds is a relaxed, single-player brick-building studio for the pleasure of making something yourself.

Choose your pieces, snap them together, and keep tinkering. Follow a guided first build or begin with an empty plate. There is always another color to try, another detail to add, or another way to make it yours.

A little guidance. Plenty of room for your ideas.

Get comfortable with an optional guided first build, with the pieces and colors you need brought into your tray. Finishing is just the beginning: change the palette, expand the model, or take it in a completely different direction.

Prefer to start from scratch? Choose a small, medium, or large plate and build your own way. Browse bricks, slopes, windows, wheels, pipes, and other details. Keep favorite pieces in your personal tray, mix custom colors, and use undo and redo as you experiment. Your supply of pieces never runs out.

Give your creations a moving part

Open a cockpit canopy, fold a wing, or tip a truck bed. Hinges, sliders, and turntables let you adjust supported moving sections with the mechanism controls, bringing the connected pieces along with them.

Keep your favorites. Show how they fit together.

Save named creations in My Builds and return when your next idea strikes. Turn a model into suggested visual instruction steps, then arrange the steps, add notes, and choose helpful viewing angles. Follow guides inside the game with the pieces for each step in your tray.

Generated instructions need a creator's review, especially around hidden connections and moving parts.

Find your next spark of inspiration

Explore the original studio builds or browse Steam Workshop creations in Community. Look around other builders' models in the 3D viewer, then share a creation of your own. Online Workshop features require Steam and ownership of the main game.

Try the separate demo to get a feel for building. It does not include every feature of the newest main-game build or connect to the main game's Workshop.
