“The Anchored Hour has a playable core loop, but it will benefit from player feedback while balance, onboarding, art/audio polish, and long-term content direction are still being refined. Early Access lets me test the tower-defense roguelite loop with real players, see which systems are working, and prioritize improvements based on actual play.

“The current goal is roughly 6 to 12 months, but that may change depending on player feedback, development scope, and how much polish or additional content the game needs before leaving Early Access.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to be more polished and complete, with stronger art and audio presentation, better onboarding, more refined balance, expanded content, quality-of-life improvements, and a more stable overall experience. The exact scope may change as Early Access feedback shows what the game needs most.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is playable and contains the main tower-defense roguelite loop: building defenses, gathering resources, scouting fog-covered maps, sending units down the path, fighting enemy towers and outposts, surviving enemy attacks, choosing relics and upgrades, and progressing through runs. Some art, audio, UI, balance, and content are still in active development, and players should expect changes throughout Early Access.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to price the game lower during Early Access and may raise the price as the game becomes more complete. Any price change will be based on the amount of content, polish, balance work, and overall scope added during development.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use player feedback from Steam discussions, bug reports, playtest reports, and community feedback channels to guide balance, onboarding, quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and content priorities. Early Access feedback will help identify which systems are working well, which parts are confusing, and what should be improved before the full release.

About This Game

The Anchored Hour is a roguelite tower-defense strategy game about defending a displaced royal keep after a mysterious black orb tears the castle into a hostile timeline.

Build up your defenses, scout through fog-covered lands, gather resources, and send your own waves of units down the path to destroy enemy towers, outposts, and the enemy base. Each run pushes the kingdom farther through unstable biomes while relics, upgrades, and hard choices shape how your defenses survive the next assault.
