What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because player feedback is essential for shaping the direction of the game. Desktop Center of the Space is a deep idle experience with procedurally generated universes, and balancing the progression curve, resource economy, and long term pacing requires real input from players with different playstyles. Early Access gives us the opportunity to fine tune the balance, polish existing systems, and expand the game based on what the community enjoys, struggles with, or suggests, helping us build a more rewarding and complete final version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for the Early Access period to last approximately 3 - 4 months. However, this is an estimate rather than a strict deadline. Our goal is to leave Early Access once we feel the game's balance, progression, and overall content have reached a quality level we're satisfied with. During this period we will focus on refining the idle mechanics, fine tuning the resource economy, and expanding the gameplay systems players interact with. Player feedback throughout Early Access will play a key role in guiding our progress toward the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Planned updates and improvements :

- We plan to add more content and variety to keep long term play engaging.

- We aim to improve gameplay balance based on player feedback.

- We plan to fix bugs and address issues reported by the community.

- We aim to make small quality of life improvements to the overall experience.

These are development goals rather than strict promises. As we gather feedback and make progress, we will evaluate when the game feels polished enough to move toward a full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes :

- A procedurally generated universe filled with planets, asteroids, and other celestial objects.

- An idle progression system with resources, upgrades, and offline gains.

- Planet civilizations featuring lights, satellites, rings, and ruins.

- The core journey toward the center of the universe already in place.

- A stable gameplay loop where players gradually expand their reach, grow their resources, and progress closer to the center of the universe.

More content, balance improvements, and quality-of-life updates will be added throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price after Early Access. Players who support the game during Early Access and those who purchase it after the full release will pay the same price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community by actively gathering feedback throughout Early Access. Player suggestions will help guide balance adjustments, new content, and general improvements to the game. Most communication will take place through our Discord server, but we will also use our social media channels to share updates and receive feedback. These platforms will allow players to submit ideas, report issues, and discuss the future direction of the game.”
