« Throughout development, much thought and consideration was put into determining what topics to include, in what order, and what exercises to implement. Now, it's time to put it up to the test to hear from learners.

Although the course may not be fully complete in this early release state, the current version contains many completed lessons. Learners may choose to begin with the available lessons now, and continue at a later date when the next lessons are to be released. This option may be especially valuable to those starting their high-school or university computer science education in September, whom would benefit from this early release. »

Combien de temps environ ce logiciel sera-t-il en Accès anticipé ?

« It is expected that the full version will be ready for release October 2026, containing all intended content and exercises. However, it's certainly possible that development will take longer. Development may be extended to implement features that are suggested by the users. »

« As the goal is to provide the best educational experience possible, customer feedback will be of utmost importance. An understanding of what learners had trouble with, what they enjoyed, and what additional features they may want included in future versions is extremely valuable. No one understands the learning process as well as those currently learning, and this is why we'd love the community to be as involved as possible in these early stages. Community feedback in this regard will be strongly considered and very much appreciated. »

Computer Revolution is an educational course providing an introduction to the field of computer science from first principles, with no prerequisites needed.

Throughout the course, learners will be exposed to ideas foundational to the field, like the binary number system, boolean logic, and more. These ideas will be expanded upon to present more practical sections, like computer architecture and computer programming, where learners will be able to model and program a simple computer system.

Features:

The current version offers 17 out of 25 planned lessons, allowing users to build a foundational understanding of computer science from the ground-up. Lessons build upon each other in modular steps, each lesson being a simple extension of the prior. Together, the lessons present topics in a linear, intuitive order, allowing for a seamless introduction to the field and the ideas therein.

Each lesson includes:

A storyline portion: intended to lay out the need for additional developments in the field in the form of a problem needing to be solved
A video lesson: presenting the relevant information in a concise ~ten-minute video
Exercises: allowing for the hands-on solving of problems, creating a deeper understanding of the lesson content

Additional learning tools:

In addition to the course content, additional tools are provided to allow learners to get the best out of their learning experience. Users can review previously encountered terminology, practice boolean logic using boolean diagrams, examine the different iterations of the computer system throughout its development during the course, and will be able to complete programming practice problems using this computer system.
