• Create your referee – choose a name, nationality, look, background and personality. You start on the regional list; everything else you earn on the pitch.
  
• Two leagues to start in – the English and German second tiers are open, with the first 4 matchweeks of the season playable.
  
• Make the calls – play on or blow for a foul, show yellow and red cards, rule on offsides and penalties, all in real time.
  
• VAR reviews – rewind the incident, switch camera angles, slow it down and decide: does the goal stand?
  
• Every decision is rated – correct calls build your reputation, mistakes make the headlines the next morning.
  
• Life off the pitch – plan your week from your phone and keep an eye on your calendar, messages, fitness, stress and wallet.
