What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The heart of Meow World lies in the interactions between companions, Tags, relics, and positioning. As more content is added, these systems can produce combinations that even the developer may not fully anticipate.
Early Access allows us to expand the game while learning how real players understand its mechanics and create their builds. Feedback on balance, clarity, usability, and—most importantly—which combinations are genuinely fun will help Meow World become a deeper, more approachable, and more replayable auto-battling roguelike.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last approximately 6–12 months.
The exact duration may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the overall quality of the game. As a solo developer, we would rather release version 1.0 when the core experience, amount of content, and stability meet our standards than rush out of Early Access to meet a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to expand the selection of companions, relics, events, enemies, and build archetypes. We also intend to improve map progression, combat presentation, onboarding, information clarity, and overall balance.
New strategies will gradually be connected to existing systems such as egg hatching, food-based growth, skeleton and undead cycles, Luck, and Gold. Based on Early Access feedback, we also plan to refine content distribution and progression so that different builds offer clearer growth paths and more meaningful choices.
These are our current development goals. Specific features and priorities may change based on testing and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will include the complete core loop of Meow World: choosing a route through battles, shops, rewards, and random events; recruiting companions; arranging their positions; equipping relics; and testing each build through automatic combat.
The available content is built around interconnected mechanics, including animals and egg hatching, food and farming, skeleton sacrifice and undead growth, as well as Luck and Gold systems that can transform other strategies.
Players will be able to complete a full run, although the amount of content, balance, visual feedback, usability, and clarity of certain systems will continue to improve throughout Early Access. Known issues and significant changes will be communicated through Steam announcements and update notes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to review the price as the amount of content and overall level of completion increase during Early Access.
The full release may be priced higher than the initial Early Access version. Any planned price change will be announced in advance through Steam. Final pricing will also take the game’s content, level of completion, and regional pricing into consideration.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will use Steam announcements and update notes to share development progress, version changes, known issues, and upcoming priorities. We will also actively read suggestions and bug reports posted in the community discussions.
We are especially interested in how players build their teams: which combinations feel exciting, which mechanics are difficult to understand, which choices feel unappealing, and what makes someone want to begin another run. Playtest observations, bug reports, and hands-on feedback will all help us decide what to prioritize.
Not every suggestion will be added directly to the game, but all constructive feedback will be read carefully and may influence future balance, interface, content, and system design.”

About This Game

About This Game

Meow World is a roguelike auto-battler built around living production ecosystems. Choose a hero and a region, arrange animals, plants, tools, and equipment within a limited battlefield, then connect their simple abilities into an engine that produces, grows, and fights by itself.

Build Your Own Ecosystem

Plant seeds, harvest fruit, chop down trees, hatch animals, and transform food and materials into permanent power.

  • Feed animals and hatch mysterious eggs

  • Grow plants that produce food, wood, stone, and gold

  • Gather resources and forge increasingly powerful equipment

  • Sacrifice skeletons to empower undead creatures and create ghosts

Decide where every resource comes from—and where it should go next.

Discover Unexpected Combinations

Use Tags, relics, Luck, Critical effects, Double activations, and elemental enhancements to transform every unit.

A single unexpected modifier can connect plants, animals, equipment, and undead creatures in a completely new way. Even an unassuming unit may grow into the centerpiece of your entire team.

  • 160+ obtainable units, foods, materials, and pieces of equipment

  • 70+ relics that strengthen your build or change its rules

  • 60+ combinable Tags and special mechanics

  • 20+ card packs with different reward pools

There is no single correct team—only chain reactions waiting to be discovered.

Choose Your Route

Your hero and region shape the opportunities available during each run without deciding your strategy for you.

  • 8 feline heroes with unique abilities and starting directions

  • 3 playable regions: Farm, Forest, and Mine

  • Continue developing your current ecosystem or pivot between chapters

  • 60+ enemies and enemy units, including varied formations, elites, and bosses

  • Battles, shops, rewards, and random events throughout every adventure

Your choices determine how the build develops.

Automatic Battles, Meaningful Decisions

Combat unfolds automatically. The strategy happens beforehand.

What will you recruit? What should you sell? Where should each unit stand? How will you spend your limited gold and battlefield space?

When everything is ready, watch resources flow, abilities chain together, and numbers grow until the ecosystem you created overwhelms the enemy.

Begin with a seed, an egg, or a tiny skeleton.

Then discover what it can become.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with selected pre-generated visual assets and portions of the programming work. All AI-assisted content is manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. Visual assets are repainted, adjusted, and brought into a consistent art style before being used in the game or promotional materials. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to any external AI services.
