Depending on their intended use, they can be designed as unpressurized or pressurized, insulated or non-insulated. While unpressurized cars feature various filling and emptying devices on the top and bottom, pressurized tank cars are equipped with protected fittings and reinforced tank bodies to safely transport even demanding cargo.

The design of these cars is precisely tailored to the substances being transported. Interior coatings or special materials ensure that sensitive or hazardous goods remain safely isolated and do not react with the tank material. As a result, many tank cars are specialized for specific types of cargo and are often used for a single purpose.

These models also offer modern features for a realistic simulation experience. This includes dynamic soiling, which visibly ages the car during operation. An automatic FRED (Flashing Rear End Device) ensures an authentic representation of the train’s rear end. ACS couplers enhance operational safety and meet modern standards. The package is complemented by a shunting view, which enables precise maneuvering during daily operations.
