About This Demo

Ember Legion combines streamlined strategy with real-time combat where every run hands you a bonfire, a broken stretch of wasteland, and a clock. By day you explore ruins, clear camps, gather what the old world left behind, and build. By night the beast tides arrive and you find out what your day was worth. Recruit soldiers, kit them out, and place them well. The legion you assemble is the build you fight with. Rifts between worlds tore the sky apart and the hordes poured through like a rising tide. Your homeland is ruins now, and the bonfire is the last sanctuary still burning. You are its commander. Rally the survivors, sound the horn, and push the dark back one beacon at a time. Where other strategy games ask you to master a build order and an economy, Ember Legion asks you for a handful of decisions that actually matter. No base to babysit, no worker queue to optimize. There is a night coming, a limited number of hours before it arrives, and a legion that gets stranger and stronger the longer you survive. Will you spend the daylight pushing further out, or fall back and reinforce the ground you already hold?

Attack during the Day... Be Attacked at Night

One run, two distinct games. Neither one forgives the other.

- Day is yours: lead your legion across the wasteland, clear camps, light bonfires, and haul resources back to the fire

- Night belongs to them: stop expanding, position your troops around the fortifications the day paid for, and hold

- Dawn is the turn: strike while the horde is thinned and take back the ground the night cost you

- Every hour spent expanding is an hour not spent digging in. That trade is the whole game.

Your Legion Is Your Build.

You don't pick a class. You assemble one, unit by unit.

- Shieldbearers absorb, Horse Archers flank, Ballista Crews break the things too big to block

- Every soldier costs resources you could have spent on defenses, so the roster is a real decision

- The mix decides what you can do: a wall of shields will survive the night but won't crack an outpost by noon

- Composition beats reflexes. A well-built legion holds a line you could never micro your way through.

Step Through the Rift.

The tear that ruined your world is also where the best gear is.

- A rift opens on the map and the ground inside stops being yours: corrupted terrain, hard borders, and whatever came through

- Clear it and the chests are yours: evasion, block, shock, burn, gale. All effects that rewrite the rules of battle and stack across the run

- The strongest legions aren't found. They're built, one rift at a time

- Two runs with the same hero end up playing nothing alike: a bad draw isn't a dead run, it's a different plan

Take the Whole Map Back.

Survival is the floor. Reconquest is the point.

- Liberate corrupted outposts one at a time and relight the beacons across a shattered continent

- New wastelands every run, so the ground you fight over is never the ground you learned

- A growing pool of heroes, units, gear, and chest effects to build around

- Every run teaches you something the next one can use

Lightweight Strategy. Full-Weight Decisions.

All of the commanding. None of the bookkeeping.

- No sprawling economy, no build orders to memorize, no workers to babysit

- Resources are scarce on purpose, so every spend is a real and hard choice

- Easy to pick up, with the ceiling in your decisions rather than your click speed

- Short enough to finish in a sitting, dense enough to think about afterwards
