About This Software

Keep the things you love, and the moments you want to remember.

AKASHA is a personal archive for Windows where you choose what to record. Add an entry yourself, write about what it means to you, and build a library that reflects your own world.

Choose what belongs in your archive

A favorite work, something you made, or a subject you want to remember: you don't have to find it in a catalog first. Create your own entry and start with a name. Built-in work search is there to make adding familiar titles easier, not to decide what you can keep.

Let your records grow with you

Save a short impression, a memorable quote, your thoughts, or an image. Return to an entry and add more as your experience changes. You can also write about your day without starting from a work.

Return to what matters

Browse your library, search your records, and use tags and filters to find what you want to revisit. Bring together the things you care about and the thoughts you left alongside them.

Keep your files in your hands

Your written records are stored as Markdown text files on your computer, with related images alongside them. You choose where to keep your archive and can manage and back up those files yourself. Writing and browsing your local records do not require an external AI service.

Make the space your own

Choose a theme for the atmosphere you want around your records. Themes change the look of the space while keeping its layout and controls familiar.

Free recording, optional decoration

All archival features are free. Additional cosmetic themes can be unlocked with Echo earned by using the app. Echo and these themes are not sold for money. Optional support purchases are not currently available.

Start with one thing you don't want to forget.
