.:::..:::..:::.

Capesong is a superheroic strategy game where you create original characters and send them into battle, aiming to build the ultimate squad. Every hero wields a unique combination of elemental affinities and superhuman traits that defines their fighting style. Use post-battle rewards to enhance their strengths, but push your luck too far and you'll lose them forever.

CREATE YOUR HEROES
Every run starts with a randomly generated hero, complete with a personality profile and a natural predisposition toward certain elements or abilities. Who they are points them in a direction, but your choices determine which way they go.

SEND THEM INTO BATTLE
Fight your way through a roster of unique enemies, each with their own tactics and styles. Auto-battle if you trust your build. Or take the wheel if you want to control the action. The turn-based combat is simultaneous and double-blind, offering a satisfying mix of tension and strategic depth.

GROW THEIR POWERS
After each battle, spend shards to heal up, to strengthen your hero's existing affinities, or to branch into new power types. Go deep on one trait to maximize its potential, or experiment across elements to find unique and interesting synergies.

RISK vs REWARD
But be aware: shards spent on healing are shards not spent on growth. Playing it safe might help you survive longer, but going all-in can produce the best results. Knowing when to stop is half the game, because heroes lost in battle are gone for good.

JOIN THE RANKS
Heroes who've proven themselves can earn a spot on the roster of Global Defenders, your permanent squad of five. Adding a new member means retiring an old one, which makes squad composition a crucial part of the game.

DEFEND THE UNIVERSE
Once assembled, you can send your squad into asynchronous auto-battles against teams built by other players. This is where thoughtful composition beats raw power, as a well-balanced team built with intention will often outperform a mismatched collection of individually strong heroes.

Growing up on games like Freedom Force and City of Heroes, I've always loved the idea of creating my own superheroes and watching them come to life. I'm also a huge fan of tactical card games, strategy battlers, and squad builders. Capesong is my attempt to combine the joy of creating original characters with the strategic depth of a game that rewards you for thinking ahead. Every hero is randomly generated with their own identity, personality, and abilities, granting different strengths and weaknesses to manage on each run. The goal is a game where your creativity and your strategy matter equally, and where every decision carries real weight.

.:::..:::..:::.

Battles follow an analytical rock-paper-scissors logic where defenses beat attacks, attacks beat specials, and specials beat defenses. Stances confer bonuses to certain types of moves, but can tip-off your intentions to your opponent. Both sides choose simultaneously without seeing the other's pick, and every turn becomes a decision: do they expect you to attack? Will you play it safe with a defense? Or will you go for a risky special that could backfire if they see it coming? Get it right and you gain momentum. Get it wrong and your opponent does.

Momentum is your hero’s engine. As it builds, higher tiers of powers become available, but using those powers costs momentum from the same pool. A well-timed tier 3 ability can turn a losing fight around, but spending that momentum leaves you vulnerable if your opponent reads what's coming. Victory goes to the player who can balance aggression with patience, knowing exactly when to press the advantage and when to hold back.

.:::..:::..:::.

Though it may be hard to believe, our world has recently seen the emergence of actual flesh-and-blood superheroes. Flashy costumes. Fantastic powers. The whole nine yards. At first, most dismissed it as some kind of AI-generated social media publicity stunt. But when the Global Defenders arrived in the nick of time to thwart a monster invasion off the coast of California, the truth could no longer be denied. Earth had entered a new age.

But what prompted this sudden transformation, and what mysterious force is guiding the superpower-granting shards to find their unsuspecting hosts? In Capesong, you take control of ordinary people whose lives are upended the moment a shard chooses them. Guide them through their first uncertain battles as they struggle to understand their new abilities, develop new powers from the remnants of defeated enemies, and grow strong enough to protect the world.

The ranks of the Global Defenders are constantly in flux, and your heroes can earn a place among them. But the choice is yours: accept a hard-earned spot on the roster and secure your hero's legacy, or keep pushing deeper into danger to build them even stronger. Every additional battle is a chance to make your hero more powerful, but losses are final, and those who fail are gone for good.
