About This Game

Against the Dark Moon is a poker roguelike inspired by 1980s heroic fantasy. Build a party of up to five heroes out of dozens of choices and defeat the rising Dark Moon that feeds the invading forces of chaos and evil.

Play poker hands with cards in the style of 1980s fantasy illustration. Pairs, straights, flushes, full houses. Strikes set the score and Wyrd multiplies it. Your heroes shape every hand you play and their unique effects power up your score. Attack. Win. Defeat the forces of evil.

But the Dark Moon is always rising. Every turn brings it closer to the threshold, and when it strikes, you'll face three curses and have to choose the one your heroes can survive. Slow its approach, and find cards that minimize the power of its curses so they don't destroy your winning hand.

Every hero has their own abilities and personality: a barbarian whose laugh is as powerful as his weapon, a diplomat who fights her battles with words, a blindfolded bard who sings the turns. Their skills stack, clash, and combine. Every hero combination plays differently.

Your starting hero isn't alone. Activate Divine Intervention cards to reshape your deck mid-run. Recruit rare heroes whose abilities power up your hand. Every run surprises you with new possibilities: different cards, different heroes, different curses.
