About This Game

You are the heroine of a fantasy story… except you're a sword!

Světlavoda, an old town sitting on the edge of an empire. Railways and shipping lines pass through it, so its languages mix and its faiths overlap, and generations of ambition and trauma lie buried beneath its streets. And you are just the Sword in Stone, asleep for years deep inside Světlavoda library.

To you, none of it ever seemed to matter… until the day you woke up. You're given one chance: take human form, step into this city, and come to know, care,and love.

■ Starting from a manuscript in the library basement, uncover layer by layer the secrets about yourself — and about this city.

■ A text-based city life sim: explore Světlavoda freely, work to earn your keep, and meet residents of very different personalities and backgrounds as the days and nights go by.

■ An alternate-history fantasy setting rooted in Central European history — fractured nations, vanished peoples, migrating cultures, and the fault lines of language and identity… retold through the small details of everyday life.

■ Rich branching story and multiple endings — there's no single correct path, only the one you're willing to answer for.

■ Friendship, challenges, adventure, love, marriage, history, trauma, struggle, order… but does any of it actually matter to you?

Disclaimer:

When the Sword in Stone began planning in June 2024, it was conceived as a fairly traditional dating-sim with a female protagonist, so most of the interactable characters are male. Over the course of development, I gradually came to see other possibilities for TSIS, and so the game was gradually broadened. In short, if this makes you uncomfortable, please stop playing.

I could try to argue that, given the era this story is set in, you'd rarely run into other women on the street — but that would only highlight how poorly I've written my characters, wouldn't it?
