Why Early Access?

“Varren's Expanse is Wonder Forge's first title, and we want to make it the best game we can. Best way to do that is to improve and build with the players.”

“Six months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“All our own art, multiplayer, at least one additional playable faction.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Single player only, functional but using placeholder art.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning to increase the price (~25%) when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will take regular (bi-weekly) feedback from players in polls conducted via our Discord to determine the direction for the next feature additions and improvements to existing features. We will prioritize bug reports from players as well, and show early versions of art for upcoming factions and characters in the Discord so they can provide feedback.

We want the players who are willing to jump into the early access version of Varren's Expanse to have a strong voice in the continued development of the game, and therefore to have access to the dev team.”

About This Game

Explore and conquer the vast wilderness of the Expanse!  Guide an expedition from humble beginnings to becoming a vast empire.  Every round is in a new part of the Expanse, with new foes and discoveries.  Find treasures and glory, discover foes ancient and new, overcome challenges and escape traps.

Mice, Badgers, Rabbits, and Squirrels

Control a cast of heroic animals, carving their civilization out of the wilderness.  Send mouse and badger legionnaires, guided by rabbit scouts and squirrel skirmishers, to face down coyotes, moles, boars, and ancient, terrible foes.

Grow in Power, Round Over Round

Expand your forces, unlock new buildings and soldiers, and refine your tactics with every round in this roguelite strategy game.  Every round, win or lose, gives you progress towards improving your beasts' strength in battle and skill at building empires.
