About This Game

The world of Ferrum is a deadly one, inhospitable to outsiders. Eight hundred years ago, fleeing peoples from another realm found a world of iron, magic, and most of all, foes. The Great Spirits of Ferrum, only intelligent enough to know pride and greed, have unleashed hordes of beasts transformed by a despicable magical plague upon civilization. And so, humanity must fight for their place in this new world. Muster the valorous Knights of Highlake, call upon the holy Champions of Ivollayn, bring forth the... M4A4 Sherman? This can't be right...

The Steel Horse Rumbles to Battle!

Coming from the distant and incomprehensible age of 2025, Samuel and Andrew, two American tankers that were embroiled in the Hungarian civil war, are plucked away from certain death to serve the powers of Ferrum that seek to tame its rabid spirit. Equipped with an aging Sherman tank from a previous, failed attempt at summoning other heroes, can they make sense of this new world and keep control of a crew only used to dragons and dire bears?

Assemble your Troops, Build your Army!

Not all humans of this world are united in their interest, but they are still mighty indeed. The Kingdom of Azala has at its disposition many veteran troops able to support the Steel Horse. Lead them into battle in turn-based strategy combat, support their advance during the expansive story campaign and upgrade their equipment to better face their savage enemies. Perhaps men-at-arms equipped with Thompsons could turn the tide?

Gear Up for your Campaign

Direct the Steel Horse, its crew and their allies through almost 20 story missions, each affected by your battle performance in previous engagements. While the Sherman is powerful, it is still prey to the alien dangers of this strange new world. Use a varied roster of units from peasant militias and gallant knights to infantry armed with weapons beyond their wildest dreams to protect it, all upgradeable through the campaign. All of your skills will be needed to achieve victory for the Kingdom, explored through mission variations depending on your performance and 4 possible endings.

Building upon Experience

Steel Horse is a spiritual sequel to Cataclysm Wars, using the experience we've gained to further improve the gameplay, art, and campaign. Just like our previous game it is a work of passion, coming from an in-writing novel that our sprite artist completed in 2024. Thus, Steel Horse benefits from a rich and extensive setting to draw from alongside the base of our previous game.
