What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have successfully finalized the core gameplay mechanics for VELATO, including the core Joker synergetic systems, scoring metrics, and our unique bluffing mechanics. At this stage, we have already implemented over 100 distinct Joker cards—offering a wide array of strategic builds—alongside 24 unique Bosses, each featuring distinct traits and challenging modifiers. The Early Access build also includes a fully functional Endless Mode.

However, to ensure VELATO reaches its full potential, we need community feedback and real-world gameplay data. Balancing the meta, pacing the rogue-like progression, and ensuring that Endless Mode remains deeply engaging over long-term playthroughs requires a collaborative effort with our players. Early Access allows us to gather the crucial insights needed to fine-tune these mathematical balances and deliver the most polished, addictive experience possible upon full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“3-6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the full version of VELATO with more diverse content and feature upgrades based on community feedback. We intend to introduce additional game modes, further expand the roster of Joker cards and mechanics to deepen strategic gameplay, and continuously refine the overall game balance. Crucially, we plan to utilize all user feedback and gameplay data gathered during Early Access to help design and balance a potential PvP mode for the future. Additionally, we plan to polish the user interface (UI/UX) for a smoother experience, add more localization options (multi-language support), and optimize performance and visual effects. Our goal is to use the Early Access period to evolve these features dynamically alongside our players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of VELATO features a fully playable and stable core gameplay loop. It includes a comprehensive Tutorial to introduce players to the mechanics, 1 primary play mode alongside a fully functional Endless Mode, over 100 unique Joker cards for diverse strategic builds, and 24 challenging Bosses with distinct traits. The game also supports multi-language localization from day one, ensuring players can jump right into the action and experience the complete synergy and bluffing systems immediately.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not intend to change the price of the game when we transition from Early Access to the full release. We want to ensure that our early adopters receive the full value of the expanding content and future updates without any additional cost, as a token of appreciation for supporting VELATO from its early stages.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that community collaboration is vital for the growth of VELATO. We will actively engage with our players through the Steam Discussion Forums and our official social media channels like discord or reddit, where we will closely monitor community feedback, bug reports, and gameplay suggestions to implement routine balance patches.

To keep the community excited and actively participating during Early Access, we plan to host regular Seasonal Events directly on Steam. This includes running a yearly Leaderboard Campaign to challenge our top strategists, alongside quarterly Steam Gift Card Giveaways to reward active players who contribute valuable insights to our development journey.”

About This Game

VELATO

A poker-bluff roguelike deckbuilder where you have to outsmart the opponent reading you.

In VELATO, you sit across the table from the system Bosses that watch how you play, remembers when you've bluffed, and decides whether to call you out. Every hand becomes two games at once: the poker hand you build, and the mind game you play to sell it.

Does the bluff go through or will the Bosses call it out? Do you dare to bluff? 🤡

What is the Game like?

Velato has 3 play modes:

Single mode - Single-player vs Bosses

Battle Mode - Player vs Player (Upcoming)

Hell Mode - Multiplayer (Upcoming)

You will climb through endless floors, and each floor puts you through three escalating tables.

Small table — warm up and set your strategy with 50 Golds per table

Big table — pressure rises, stakes climb from 50 to 70 Golds and more per Table

What are the specials?

  • Bluff against 24 Bosses

It's Poker. It's Roguelike and you need to build your deck carefully. Pick up the best hand to bluff and challenge the Bosses to survive and play on next tables.

  • 124 Jokers to help you survive

You can buy Joker after beating a boss. Read and calculate carefully before you buy any Jokers. If not, you will not gain any scores in the next table.

  • 24 bosses in Velato

If you can survive, you meet different boss in each new table. Each boss will have their own power to defend your hand and you need to remember all their faces to build the most appropriate deck to beat them.

Bluff is The heart of the game

The bluff system is the thing we're most proud of. That tension of staring down an opponent and daring them to call you — the kind that normally only exists in multiplayer poker — now lives inside a single-player poker-bluff roguelike deckbuilder. It turns every hand from play for fun to play and calculate to survive.

You can choose "Challenge" or "Skip" button if you're confident with your Jokers' power.

Betting Golds is another strategy in Bluffing stage. If you're ready to all-in, maximize the gold. If not, keep your gold to play next tables.
