In the Name of the Father is a fast-paced top-down action game in a 1930s noir style, with instant kills and deadly ninja techniques.

The hero dashes through enemies with the katana and teleports to thrown shurikens. When enemies crowd in, the chain weapon sweeps them all away.

Nine charms change the way every fight plays out, each with its own perks. Combined, they let each player build a fighting style of their own.

PIXELS WITH WEIGHT

Hand-built 3D characters rendered into pixel art under a cinematic film look, with over 3,400 animation frames for the hero alone (aiming for more than 10,000) – so every movement carries weight.

1. Localization: In-game UI text and parts of the store page were translated with the help of an AI language model (Claude). The original text was written by the developer. Translation errors reported by players after release will be corrected in updates.

2. Font: Some pixel-font glyphs for non-Latin writing systems (for example Lao, Cherokee, Thaana and Thai marks) were drawn with the help of an AI model, based on open-licensed reference fonts (SIL OFL). All glyphs were reviewed by the developer.

This game contains frequent, graphic violence. The player kills human enemies with swords, throwing weapons and fire. Kills are shown with blood spray, blood pools that remain on the floor, and bodies that stay in the level. Enemies killed with the katana can be decapitated, and enemies and bodies can be set on fire. Some characters may appear partially nude. Characters are shown smoking and drinking alcohol, in keeping with the 1930s setting. Dismemberment, blood, body parts and gore sounds can each be turned off in the options menu. There is no explicit sexual content.
