You play as Detective, a detective sent to investigate a mysterious case that leads far beyond the reality you know. Your search takes you into the Backrooms — a collection of endless liminal worlds filled with abandoned buildings, impossible spaces, empty streets, strange rooms, and places that feel strangely familiar.

There are no inventories to manage. No complicated crafting. No endless puzzles.

Just you, the investigation, and the places you shouldn't be able to reach.
