About This Game

Battle creatures, survive the mob, and explore the city prohibition forgot! An action RPG + creature collector set in 1926 Kansas City, The Creature Mafia mixes a realistic world with cartoonish creature combat. Your creatures’ lives are in your hands - can you prevail against the mob?

Once known as the Black Hand, the mafia outfit in Kansas City has recently come under a new moniker - The Glowing Eyes. Threats quickly evolve into violence, with eyes in the dark appearing to any of those who stand in their way.

Battle and Capture Creatures

Wild creatures of all shapes and sizes roam the streets and parks of the city. While those on Main Street and in neighborhoods are usually passive until provoked, others will pursue you relentlessly. Winning battles and capturing creatures with your capture box leads to a stronger bond with your creatures, strengthening them and sometimes unlocking more attacks.

Upping the stakes, the optional critical health and death system allows two additional hits per creature before a possible permanent death. While wild creatures being in critical health makes them easier to capture, your own creatures may be lost permanently, if not healed with special items. The system is optional on Normal and lower difficulties, but required on harder difficulties. Certain powerful healing fountains are also able to heal creatures in critical health.

After tragedy strikes, your (NPC) friends and you reluctantly decide to take on the powerful Mafia outfit in Kansas City, investigating where you can hit them hardest. Take on mob bases to unravel the corruption and conspiracies behind The Glowing Eyes!

Explore prohibition-era Kansas City

A town full of corruption and crime, Kansas City nearly entirely ignored prohibition, and many other laws as well. Explore areas like: Battle Row, the illegal gambling district across the street from City Hall; Ninth and State, once given the name "The Wettest Block in the World", and only slightly less "wet" during prohibition; the Jazz District, which began its rise into musical history in the time period of the game; and more!

• Battle with and capture 50 unique creatures across 10 different elements, with 130 available attacks total

• Strengthen your bond with your creatures by battling and capturing other creatures to increase their attack and defense, and unlock additional attacks

• Optionally use the critical health and death system to experience the true consequences of crossing the mob

• Timing-based minigame to increase your chances of capturing a creature

• Utilize healing fountains to heal your creatures (items can also separately be used for healing)
