In the final years of the Ning Dynasty, famine spreads and rebellion rises across the land.

A religion born from chaos, The Reincarnation Sect, calls on the suffering masses to rise against the court in the name of “following the Revered One and setting the world right.”

At first glance, this seems like a story of a dying dynasty, a corrupt regime, and a popular uprising colliding in open war.

But the deeper you go, the more cracks begin to show in this world: burned histories, distorted names, objects never seen before, and “gods” beyond imagination.

In Everburning Dark, you will enter an AI-driven dark fantasy world inspired by ancient China.

The world does not change through combat alone. It also changes through conversation.

Your unlimited interactions with the AI—your questions, attitude, stance, concealment, and beliefs—will all shape the course of each journey.

Story branches, combat encounters, random events, shop contents, rest opportunities, and even the development of the world itself may all shift in different directions because of what you say and how you act.

You must defeat enemies in 2048-style tile-merging Roguelike combat, collect relics and consumable items, endure escalating anomalies, uncover the secrets hidden by every faction, and decide who to trust in a world that may itself be an illusion.

Is the Ning Dynasty truly suppressing rebellion, or burying the truth of its own rule?

Is The Reincarnation Sect deceiving the masses, or calling down a higher “god”?

What begins as an ordinary campaign in a time of chaos will lead you somewhere far deeper: a forged dynasty, a band of fanatical believers, and a truth that every force in this world is desperate to keep buried—and one you may not be able to bear.

AI-Responsive Journey

The characters you speak to are not limited to fixed lines of dialogue. They are intelligent AI-driven participants in the game world, and you have unlimited access to interact with them.

Your questions, judgments, silence, and position will influence the direction of the story, character relationships, and how the world responds during each run. Different conversations may lead to different encounters, different opportunities, and even entirely different truths.

2048-Style Merging Combat

Transforms the familiar number-merging logic of 2048 into a combat system built around tile merging and battlefield strategy.

Merge tiles, create chains, manage anomaly tiles, and choose the right moment to strike. Deal explosive damage on a limited board while surviving increasingly dangerous enemies and disruptive mechanics.

Unique Enemies and Boss Mechanics

From standard enemies to elite monsters to bosses with their own unique rules, each type of enemy brings a very different kind of pressure.

They differ in more than numbers. Each has its own skills, anomaly effects, and behavior patterns. Some create abnormal tiles, some disrupt your merging rhythm, and some constantly reshape the battlefield.

Every boss is built around distinct mechanics and combat priorities, making each boss fight feel like a completely new challenge.

Roguelike Relic, Item, and Anomaly Builds

In every run, you can shape your build around relic synergies, consumable items, and ability effects.

You may chase explosive chain damage, focus on controlling anomaly tiles and sustaining yourself, gamble on stacking rewards, or play cautiously and stabilize the board. Different choices create entirely different combat rhythms.

Evolving Events, Shops, and Rest Stops

Outside of battle, the world responds to you as well.

Event clues, shop inventories, and the opportunities available during rest stops all change based on your conversations and the current state of your journey. What seems like an ordinary pause may become a chance to recover—or the beginning of your drift away from reality.

Town Progression Between Runs

At the end of each journey, you return to town with what you have gained.

There, you can improve your abilities, strengthen your combat options, and unlock new directions for growth in preparation for your next descent into the anomalous world. Failure does not mean stopping. Every run helps you go farther the next time.

Companion Bonds and Support Growth

The companions who travel with you are more than story characters. They gradually become an important part of your strength on the road.

As your conversations, choices, and shared experiences deepen, you will learn more about their motives and secrets, while also strengthening the Support they provide in battle and exploration. Different companion growth paths will offer different forms of help and give each run a different pace.

Collect Records and Uncover the Hidden Truth

Across repeated journeys, you will gradually collect notes and clues from events, record the items, relics, and merged tiles you have encountered, and preserve the different endings each run can reach.

These records are not just part of your collection and archive. They also allow you to slowly piece together the true shape of this twisted world from scattered fragments. Whenever you return to the town archive, you can review everything you have uncovered.

Your Companions on the Road

In a world torn apart by rebellion and anomaly, the companions who travel with you are more than combat support. Each of them carries their own stance, secrets, and past.

They will aid you in battle, but they will also shape your judgment throughout the journey. The trust, disagreement, and exchanges between you may change more than just your relationship—they may also change the world you come to see.

Naier

Amid chaos and distortion, Naier still tries to preserve the most ordinary and fragile thing a person can hold on to: kindness.

She may not know the whole truth, yet she always seems quicker than anyone else to sense danger approaching. In this world that is steadily falling apart, she may be the clearest-minded person left.

Shopkeeper Tao

Shopkeeper Tao always seems to appear when you least expect her, and somehow always has exactly what you need.

She looks like nothing more than a shrewd and well-connected merchant, skilled in both trade and human nature. But she seems to know far more about the secrets buried in this land than she is willing to say aloud.

The world of Everburning Dark is still growing.

We are continuing to expand the game with more enemy types, items, relics, skills, dishes, NPCs, companions, and town facilities, bringing greater variety, deeper build possibilities, and more unexpected encounters to every journey.

Future updates will also add more scenarios. Three different routes will each feature their own narrative direction and visual style, allowing you to approach the Ning Dynasty, the Reincarnation Sect, and the buried truth of this world from different perspectives.

We also plan to add selectable male and female player characters, letting players step into this unravelling journey through different identities.
