What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have a solid gameplay loop on mining, delivering, blasting and getting high scores but what we want for SHARDBLASTER! is balance with continuous updates and improvements. How fast should the Echo come? How punishing should energy drain be? Which upgrades feel amazing vs. useless? We want to work directly with players to make every shard decision feel tense but fair. Your feedback will help us tune the chaos.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access for approximately 6-8 months. This gives us enough time to add 2 more robots with different playstyle, more monster types, additional maps and create enough balance for those who want to aim for high scores.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature 2 additional robots, the planned number of maps and monster types. While the Early Access version starts with one map and core monsters, we plan to add:

2 new robots with different playstyles
2 additional maps (one for each robot)
More monster types (goblins, trolls, wizards)
More upgrades and gameplay with every map”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable! Currently, players can access:
- One complete map with MEGASHARD
- 4 monster types (Slime, Skeleton, Elf, Orc)
- Upgrade SMITHY with 8+ upgrades
- Arcade Mode (destroy Mega-Shard + meet quota + high score leaderboard

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We want to reward our early supporters, so the game will be available at a lower price during Early Access. The price will increase slightly upon the 1.0 release to reflect the added content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe the best arcade games are built alongside the people blasting shards with us! Our community involvement plan includes a dedicated Discord server where players can chat directly with the devs where we will be hosting test sessions of early builds and share updates. This also includes balancing polls for the game, suggestion threads and bug reporting.”

About This Game

About This Game

Welcome to SHARDBLASTER!, where a lonely robot, a field of glowing crystals, and an endless horde of fantasy monsters collide in an explosion of color and chaos!

SHARDBLASTER! is a third-person arcade arena shooter that blends resource mining, quota delivery, and wave-based combat. You are a robot with a big laser, a bigger blaster, and one simple goal: destroy the giant crystal in the map before it destroys you.

The MEGASHARDpulses with power. Every few minutes, it ECHOES sending out a shockwave that spawns slimes, skeletons, elves, and orcs. The longer you wait, the worse it gets. So what do you do? You mine it until nothing is left or BLAST that SHARD into oblivion.

MINE. DELIVER. SURVIVE. BLAST!

Every glowing shard on the ground is a piece of the Mega-Shard. Your robot needs them for everything from moving, to fighting, to surviving. But the Unknown Entity is watching, and the delivery quota won't meet itself.

Every shard is a choice:

  • Deliver it → Meet your quota and progress toward victory

  • Recharge with it → Keep your robot moving (no energy = slow movement!)

  • Spend it at the Upgrade Smithy → Get permanent power-ups

THE ENERGY SYSTEM. THE ECHO AND THE SMITHY

Your robot moves slow without energy. Walking, dashing, and shooting all drain the battery.

ZERO ENERGY = sitting duck

Recharge by consuming the shards in your hand. But those same shards could have been delivered for quota or spent on upgrades. Every shard is a life-or-death decision.

At the same time the MEGASHARD does not sit quietly. Every few minutes it ECHOES and spawns in fantasy creatures from Slimes to Orcs. The more you mine and damage it the faster the ECHOES come. Damage it wisely.

There's no pause menus. No shoulder buttons. Walk up to the SMITHY, BLAST him away and spend your hard-mined shards amongst the 3 random powerups / upgrades he spawns out. No Rerolls, Just find the SMITHY and blast him again!

KEY FEATURES

  • High-Stakes Resource Management: Every shard is delivery fuel, energy food, OR upgrade money. Choose wisely or die trying.

  • Risk-vs-Reward Mining: Mine the MEGASHARD or just BLAST at it. Choose wisely.

  • The Echo System: Survive escalating waves of fantasy monsters. The more you damage the crystal, the faster they come.

  • Physical Upgrade Shop: No menus. Blast the SMITHY and he spawns in upgrades / powerups, spend shards.

  • Arcade or Endless — Complete the quota and destroy the MEGASHART in Arcade Mode for the leaderboard, or survive forever in a planned Endless Mode.

  • Stylized Cartoon Aesthetic — Vibrant, bouncy, explosive. Low-poly charm with big particle effects.

Tight Third-Person Controls — Designed for controller, fully playable on keyboard/mouse.

Every glowing shard in your robot hand asks the same question: "Do I deliver you, upgrade with you, or recharge to survive?"
