Was die Entwickler zu sagen haben:

Wozu Early Access?

„Lark is already playable, but it is still growing, mutating, breaking, being fixed, and occasionally being thrown into THE PIT.

I want to use Early Access to involve players while the game is still taking shape. Lark is built around survival, stealing, sacrificing, stacking buffs, multiplayer chaos, and becoming a tiny unhinged problem, so feedback is extremely useful for figuring out what feels fun, what needs polish, what breaks, and what should be expanded next.

As a solo developer, Early Access gives me the chance to build Lark alongside the community instead of disappearing into a cave and guessing what players want.“

Wie lange wird dieses Spiel ungefähr den Early Access-Status haben?

„I currently expect Lark to be in Early Access for around 12 to 24 months, depending on how development goes and how much the game grows during that time.

This timeline may change as features are tested, improved, added, removed, sacrificed, or replaced with something better. The goal is to keep improving the game steadily while listening to player feedback along the way.“

Wie soll sich die Vollversion von der Early Access-Version unterscheiden?

„The Early Access version is focused on the core Lark experience: running around as a Wildthing, harvesting resources, building shelters, stealing from strange villages, sacrificing loot to THE PIT, stacking equipment buffs, fighting enemies, surviving, and becoming more ridiculous as the run goes on.

For the full version, I plan to expand the game with more content, more polish, and more reasons to jump back in for another chaotic run.

Planned additions may include:

- More playable characters with different abilities and playstyles
- More equipment buffs, sacrifice rewards, and build combinations
- Randomly generated maps and more run variety
- More enemies, bosses, events, secrets, and general nonsense
- A final boss or larger end goal for completing a run
- More unlockable rewards, cosmetics, and progression
- Better multiplayer support and Steam friend features
- More visual polish, animations, sound effects, music, UI improvements, and feedback

Some ideas may change depending on what works best, what players enjoy, and what THE PIT allows to survive.“

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

„The current version of Lark is playable and includes the main foundations of the game.

Players can run around the demo map, harvest resources, build shelters, steal items, sacrifice loot to THE PIT, gain equipment buffs, fight enemies, and play solo or with friends through hosted multiplayer.

The game is still in active development, so players should expect bugs, balance issues, missing polish, rough edges, strange multiplayer behaviour, and the occasional moment where the game does something completely stupid. Sometimes that is a bug. Sometimes that is just Lark being Lark.

The current focus is polishing the core gameplay loop, improving combat and movement feel, balancing equipment buffs, fixing bugs, improving multiplayer stability, and making the Wildthing feel more chaotic and satisfying to play.“

Wird dieses Spiel während und nach Early Access unterschiedlich viel kosten?

„I plan to keep the Early Access price lower while Lark is still being developed.

As more content, features, polish, multiplayer improvements, bosses, characters, and general chaos are added, the price may increase over time. Any price changes will reflect how much the game has grown and how much value has been added for players.“

Wie werden Sie versuchen die Community in den Entwicklungsprozess miteinzubeziehen?

„I want players to share bug reports, balance feedback, feature ideas, weird moments, multiplayer issues, clips, suggestions, and anything that made them laugh, rage, explode, or become an unstoppable forest gremlin.

Feedback will help shape things like:

- Equipment buffs and sacrifice rewards
- Multiplayer balance and stability
- Combat, movement, and ability feel
- New characters, enemies, bosses, and events
- Quality-of-life improvements
- Bugs, broken builds, and funny accidents that may or may not become features

Some ideas on the roadmap may grow, change, or get thrown directly into THE PIT depending on what players enjoy most. The plan is to keep listening, testing, improving, and building Lark into a weirder, funnier, more chaotic game with the community involved along the way.“

Infos zum Spiel

Lark is a chaotic solo/co-op survival roguelite where you play as a strange little Wildthing trying to become an unstoppable problem for the world around you.

Harvest resources, craft tools, build a barely-respectable shelter, steal from strange villages, and throw questionable treasures into THE PIT in exchange for powerful equipment buffs. Every run is about scraping together supplies, making bad decisions, and stacking enough strange powers to grow from small nuisance to unhinged little god.

Play alone or host a run with up to five friends as you explore, loot, fight, sacrifice, and spiral wildly out of control together.

Gather resources, craft what you need, build basic shelters, raid villages, steal loot, and decide what is worth keeping — or what deserves to be thrown into THE PIT.

Sacrifice stolen goods and strange treasures to gain equipment buffs that shape your build over the course of each run. The more you offer, the more ridiculous your Wildthing can become.

Combine equipment tags, buffs, and scaling effects to create strange synergies. Start weak, get weird, and turn your tiny creature into an absolute menace.

Play solo or host a multiplayer run with up to five friends. Work together, split up, hoard resources, make terrible plans, and try not to become the reason everyone dies.

Craft simple, crude hut pieces for storage and protection without turning the game into a full construction sim.

Explore a world filled with villages, shrines, graveyards, enemies, loot, hazards, and strange events that create chaotic little stories every run.

Lark is designed to be polished enough to play seriously, but weird enough that things can go horribly wrong in the funniest way possible.

Lark is being developed by a solo developer, and player feedback will help shape where the game goes next. Nothing below is a hard promise or locked release date, but these are the main areas planned for development during Early Access.

The current focus is making the core loop as fun, readable, and chaotic as possible:

  • harvesting, crafting, stealing, and sacrificing

  • equipment buffs and build synergies

  • multiplayer stability and hosting

  • enemy encounters and world danger

  • run pacing, balance, polish, and clarity

Future updates are planned to include:

  • More playable characters with their own abilities, strengths, and chaotic nonsense

  • Darker character powers and more unstable upgrade paths

  • Randomly generated maps, events, loot, enemies, and sacrifice opportunities

  • More bosses, including a final boss as a main victory condition

  • More equipment buffs, strange items, build combinations, and ridiculous scaling

  • Unlocks, cosmetics, secrets, rewards, and funny little surprises

  • Steam achievements, friend support, progress tracking, and multiplayer improvements

  • More enemies, races to steal from, hazards, secrets, polish, sound, music, VFX, and general nonsense

Some ideas may grow, some may change, and some may be thrown directly into THE PIT if they do not work. The goal is to keep improving Lark with feedback from the players who are helping shape this strange little creature into something bigger, weirder, and much more dangerous.
