Why Early Access?

“Tower Tanks is a love letter to fans of hectic couch co-op experiences, and we feel like the best way to do the co-op genre justice is to develop our game co-operatively alongside the fans. Early Access is a great way for us to get players involved and start gathering valuable feedback to help shape the game into the best version it can be. We hope it will serve as the ultimate testing ground for players to try out experimental features, play around with wacky new stations, and find creative interactions we ourselves had never even considered.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We have a long ways to go and a lot of content to add until it's ready for a 1.0 release. Our estimate is ~1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to fully flesh out the game's content with a co-op, roguelike Campaign Mode, complete with an arsenal of stations to unlock, environments to traverse, bosses to fight, and expandable customization options for tanks and characters to make each run feel unique. The full game will feature Online Multiplayer Support. A fully fleshed-out PVP Mode is a planned stretch goal as well, but is not our primary focus.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This version of the game is a Beta of the 'Endless' Mode. Players can play local co-op runs to build and modify their tank with a variety of basic stations, then crew it through procedurally generated levels as bigger and bigger enemies spawn. It's indicative of the game's flow but not it's final content, we have a lot planned and will be updating it continuously over the course of development.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may increase the price for the full launch as additional content and features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll primarily be listening to feedback and suggestions from online sources such as our community Discord server. We also plan on doing more direct dev-streams where we'll be showcasing a bit of what goes on behind the scenes while we're working on various aspects of the game. The game will also include the gathering of anonymized analytics and in-game debug tools to help players report bugs and provide feedback.”
