Welcome to the Bone Crypt

The Bone-Steward measures your worth in marrow and memory. Trapped in a shifting tomb where every move is a gamble, you must use your wits and your bones to survive.

The Bone Crypt is a tactical roguelike that replaces traditional cards with domino-style bone tiles. Connect matching pips to attack, defend, and cast spells as you descend through 10 grueling floors.

Domino-Style Tactics: Every move requires a match. Connect a [4] to a [4] to raise your shield, or drop a [5] to land a critical strike.

Pairs Matter: Matching double pips or a classes special pips triggers devastating special abilities—turn a simple draw into a toxic infestation, or a basic block into damage-reflecting thorn armor.

The Cost of Desperation: Run out of matches? You can force a tile onto the board, but it will cost you your precious HP.

Artifact Synergy: Collect permanent Relics that change how your bones behave, like the Flux Capacitor or the Cursed Phylactery.

Master Six Distinct Classes: Unlock and master six different survivors, each with their own playstyle and starting Relic. 

The Knight: Build massive Block and reflect damage with War Paint.

The Rogue: Strike from the shadows using Stealth and Loaded Dice.

The Alchemist: Convert your healing potions into melting Acid damage.

The Wizard: Cast defensive Fire Cloaks that burn attackers before they hit.

The Archer: Drain enemies with Blight Resin and permanent Poison.

The Necromancer: Sacrifice your own bones to summon spectral Ghost tiles.

Endless Darkness or One Final Heist?

If you defeat the Bone-Steward, your journey doesn't have to end. Claim your victory, descend into the infinitely scaling Deep Dungeon, but only after you steal the Obsidian Key to trigger a high-stakes escape as the tomb collapses around you.

The core concepts, rules, and gameplay mechanics of The Bone Yard are entirely my own original creation. Because this is a solo passion project, I utilized generative AI as a development assistant to help bring my vision to life. AI tools were used to help brainstorm visual design elements, which I then curated and integrated into the game. I also used AI to assist with coding and text localization. The heart of the game, how it plays, how it feels, is 100% USDA Prime Human.
