What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Spa World is a management sim with deep systems — guest AI, staff behaviour, path-based navigation, room mechanics — and we want real players helping us balance and improve them before the full release.

Early Access lets us ship a complete, playable experience now while continuing to add the features on our roadmap: staff needs, dining, room themes, the Research Lab, and the After Hours night shift. Player feedback will directly shape how these systems work.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. The roadmap is active and updates are already in progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes 2 playable levels, 9 room types, 8 guest archetypes, and 5 staff roles — a complete gameplay loop.

We plan to add:
- 3 additional campaign levels (Airport Spa, Mountain Retreat, Rooftop City)
- Staff needs and a Staff Room system
- Toilets and a Laundry system
- Dining (Restaurant, Bar, Snack Stand)
- Room themes with mechanical modifiers
- A Research Lab and tech tree
- Marketing and loan systems
- Group bookings and guest loyalty
- The After Hours night shift mode
- A full level-specific soundtrack
- Steam achievements and controller support”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish across 2 complete levels. It features:

- 9 room types with unique mechanics and hand-drawn props
- 8 guest archetypes with individual needs and behaviours
- 5 hireable staff roles with personality traits
- Path-based navigation — guests and staff use corridors and doors
- Dynamic room capacity scaling with room size
- A seasonal cycle affecting guest flow
- 10 random events per playthrough
- End-of-day newspaper with performance insights
- Full save/load system with autosave
- Volume controls and accessibility options

The game is stable and has been tested by multiple players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Players who support the game during Early Access will get the best value. The price will increase when we reach v1.0 full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Every update on our roadmap has been shaped by player feedback. We read every comment, and bug reports go directly into the next patch.

Players can follow development through regular devlogs on Steam. We plan to use the Steam Community Hub for bug reports, suggestions, and discussion. Significant design decisions — like which roadmap feature to prioritise — may be put to a community vote.

We are a small independent developer and genuinely value direct feedback from players.”

About This Game

Spa World is a cosy isometric management game where you design and run your own wellness centre — from a bare concrete shell to a five-star sanctuary.

Drag out rooms, lay stone paths, hire staff, and keep your guests relaxed. Every decision matters: a dirty sauna loses reputation, an understaffed changing room creates a queue, and a VIP who leaves untreated can torpedo your rating overnight.

🏗️ Build Your Spa

Construct 9 different room types across a procedurally generated building. Reception, Changing Room, Sauna, Mud Bath, Meditation, Juice Bar, Pool, Yoga Studio, Massage Room — each with unique mechanics, staff requirements, and visual props. Lay Dutch klinker stone paths, place decor items like plants, candles and fountains, and expand room by room as your budget grows.

🧖 Manage Your Guests

8 guest archetypes — students, bankers, yogis, parents, tourists, influencers, retirees and celebrities — each with unique needs, patience levels and spending habits. They walk in, change into robes, queue for treatments, complain when rooms are full, and leave (and tell everyone) if you keep them waiting too long.

👩‍⚕️ Run Your Business

Balance daily upkeep, staff wages, upgrade costs and pricing. A seasonal system shifts guest flow across Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Random events — rat infestations, celebrity visits, pipe bursts, newspaper reviews — keep every day unpredictable. Check the end-of-day newspaper to see your top earner, cleaning warnings and rep damage.

🗺️ 5 Levels, 5 Locations

  • 🏚️ Urban Ghetto Spa — scrappy start, lots of debris, budget guests

  • 🏡 Suburban Wellness — parents and yogis, more breathing room

  • 🏙️ The City Retreat — bankers and influencers, higher demands

  • 🏝️ Island Resort — celebrities and tourists, big building

  • ✨ Celestial Sanctuary — every archetype, maximum pressure, achieve spa enlightenment
