What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Worldwright is a sweeping planetary simulator built one layer at a time by a single developer. Early Access allows players to influence the direction of the simulation, ensuring the world stays legible and fun while emergent complexity mounts.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Worldwright will likely stay in Early Access for around a year. That depends on one developer's pace, and he would rather extend the timeline than ship a hollow 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes working geologic and biological simulation layers. The developer plans for 1.0 to include more refined versions of these layers, plus an all-new civilizational simulation.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A working planet with plate tectonics, terrain, climate, and an early biological sim. The UI is early, and the Compendium (the game's core save + achievement system) is not yet in place.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The developer plans to raise the price gradually as the simulation grows in scope toward 1.0.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback is welcome at r/Worldwright, where the developer will be sharing regular devlogs and reading player input. Your input will directly impact weekly priorities and the long-term development roadmap.”

About This Game

One planet. Five billion years. What worlds will you create?

From Mantle to Empire

Worldwright is a planet-scale simulation where the forces of geology, evolution, and history shape an entire world in real time. Plates collide and mountains rise. Species emerge and dynasties fall. Shape the world and guide it toward any number of possible futures, playing in geologic, evolutionary, and historical time scales.

Fill Your Compendium

Each playthrough, you will uncover unique worlds to add to your Compendium- a catalog of puzzles with a causal chain that runs from tectonics through evolution through anthropology:

  • Mmm… Donuts - 70% of a world's landmass forms a single donut-shaped supercontinent.

  • The Ink's Still Wet - An aquatic civilization invents written language.

  • With Sticks and Stones - A world reaches the nuclear age, then collapses back to the stone age.

  • If Man Were Meant to Fly - An avian species develops the airplane.

  • Age of Vampires - A bloodfeasting species invents castle technology.

  • Lotophages - A flower-eating species evolves with extremely limited memory.

About the Developer

Worldwright is a solo-developer project from SeaFort LLC, born from the conviction that SimEarth deserved a modern spiritual successor. Feedback is welcome and will shape the roadmap.
