Proč předběžný přístup?

„During the (pre-Steam) closed alpha, the game was already shaped by a small yet amazing community. Their feedback coined Exo Chump's art style and UI design. A key feature was dropped because it was not fun (some hardcore line of sight rule). And many other features are thanks to user contributions (quality of life, UI features and presentation, camera view).

We feel ready to move from the inner circle of hardcore fans to a wider community and develop Exo Chumps alongside all of you now.

While the core mechanics of the Tactical game and Strategic game are complete, Early Access allows us to gather crucial player feedback to balance game rules (damage, resistance, abilities), improve features (enemy behaviour, random level generation) and refine the user experience (=fun) before launching the full version. Your input directly shapes the future of Exo Chumps.“

Přibližně jak dlouho bude tato hra v předběžném přístupu?

„Declining rate of bug reports and no open bugs left that the average gamer would encounter within a playthrough of the game. This should be possible roughly in 12 months.

Should gamers wish additional features that are feasible to implement, will be considered, but might prolong Early Access.“

Jak se bude plná verze lišit od předběžného přístupu?

„We plan to add more content (weapons, armors, consumables, attachments), a new off world biome (swamps), as well as a properly ending story (currently the game ends with randomly spawning missions) expanded through a rich research tree and workshop recipes. We also plan to add many more bug fixes, fancier visual effects and performance improvements.“

V jaké fázi vývoje se hra nachází?

„Full of bugs and barely playable. lol. Noooo, do not click away. It is not that grim.

The game has all its envisioned features ready. There is known bugs and there is planned iterations of existing features. The game is missing content. "Early game" is ready up to the galaxy exploration stage. From then on, there is no story left but random missions will spawn (without a final goal).

The story itself is written out, NPC models are ready (awaiting copyright audit), primary guns and equipment of NPCs are ready. All this needs to be woven into the research tree though.“

„Yes, it will. Now cheaper, later more expensive.“

„The Steam Community Forums is the primary hub for feedback and bug reports, checked daily. Everyone one of your posts will be highly appreciated and is treated as potential for improvement. All of your contributions will be added to the backlog and given a priority flag.

Community contributions will be honoured in the dev logs so that you can see the impact you had on 'Exo Chumps'.

There will be regular (monthly) dev logs on Steam detailing the latest changes, fixes and news. “

Exo Chumps  takes place in a universe full of diverse factions.

Freedom-loving Raiders who live how they want and take what they want, yet fearful of the ominous Star Gods.

The Star Gods - their will enforced by the Brutes: tall beasts as religously faithful as dependent on the mysterious Ambrosia.

The administrators of the universe, not the Star Gods but by their will, the Merchant Combine: logistics, security, manufacturing. Everything goes through Mercom, everyone pays Mercom (maybe no the Raiders...).

But who are the Star Gods? Nobody knows. Nobody dares to know. Except the Minotaur Rebellion who openly oppose them - for which they suffer a gruesome fate.

And then Earth gets dragged into all of this.

Key Features

  • Turn-based combat: Moving and attacking costs Action Points (APs). Some actions are free if you have APs left.

  • Real-time combat: Blasphemy! In a turn-based game? Yes! The best of your Chumps will master the ability to shoot in real time.

  • Melee Lock: Stand right next to an enemy? There is no shooting now. So have a combat knife in your inventory.

  • Sweet Spot: Stand right next diagonal to an enemy? How can you ever miss that shot? Exactly! You won't.

  • Destructible environments: See that ugly wall? Blow it up. Enemy cover? Pack in cover buster rockets. No line-of-sight? Chug a grenade.

  • Procedurally generated worlds mixed with hand-crafted missions. Dynamic quests. Different factions per battle that may be hostile or indifferent to you or each other.

  • Tools: Projectile weapons, rail guns, lasers, plasma, grenades, rocket launchers, 1-handed melee weapons, 2-handed ones, vests, backpacks, outfits, armos, energy shields.

  • Abilities and perks: Reaction fire, Overatch, Faces Off

  • Battles: Fight in deserts, forests, snow, swamps or ashlands. Enjoy the scenery of Earth ruins, alien cities, outposts, camps, factories, military bases, or space ships. Fight evil killer robots, help friends, terrorize enemies yourself.

  • Research your way through the galaxy: unlock new tech, factions, worlds and threats.

  • WorkShop: Craft items, scavange, let your Chumps offer their skills to other factions.

  • Infirmary: Take care of your wounded Chumps after battle. Not enough doctors? Decide who is gonna live or die.

  • Missions: You decide how to approach missions: wanna raid the settlement for loot or send a diplomatic envoye? Wanna help your friends or join the attackers?

  • Inventory: Different character slots, items with sub-slots. Pocket slots and back packs.
