About This Game

Axomorph Idle! An idle game about transforming an axolotl cell into the ultimate biogentic axolotl form! In Axomorph Idle, you start off with a cell, using Axonomes through idling to upgrade the Axolotl cell into a limited form. Go through the stages of growth by body part, until you finally get a fully fledged adult Axolotl! Unlock upgrades for specific parts of the axolotl, different axolotl forms, and eventually different stages to fully develop your axolotl into the most powerful one in existence!

Major stages of the game

Parts

Parts is the entire base of the game, and where you will focus your efforts for the start of the game. There are 6 parts in the game: Body, Head, Gills, Tail, Fin, and Limbs. Each part helps you progress in the game, and will have it's own features of reset, upgrades, and more.

Growth

Growth is the first major stage of the game and where a lot of early upgrades are. Growth contains 4 tabs, 3 of them are tabs directly correlating to the 6 parts, and 2 are middle and end tab with special resets. Each Growth tab has it's own theme, and directly boosted by it's own part. Growth goes over many factors: resets, mini games, and node trees, with lots of different paths of progression towards the final page: Adapt. Progression through Growth can be slow, but each one unlocks the next until you reach the next major tier: Expansion.

Expansion

Expansion is very similar to Growth, it's the 2nd part of the first half of the game. Inside Expansion is 4 parts: Tail, Fin, Limbs, and finally Journey. The first 3 tabs tie back into the 3 parts that you unlocked, with their own unique twists and content on the first 3 tabs of Growth. Growth and Expansion will continue to go hand and in until you reach the final section of this part: Journey. Journey will be kept a secret for you to explore, but leads into Mutation.

Mutation

Mutation starts the 2nd half of the game and is the reset based part of this section. Upon mutating, you get an aquatic token that gives a certain buff depending on the rarity of it, as well as which specific token it is. Along with tokens there are multiple tabs, such as the luck bar, that are good to explore and make use of. As you progress, your resets on the first half of the game will get quicker, automated, and fun!

Transcendence

Finally the last section of the game: Transcendence. This section goes in hand with Mutation, but it has new content and games for you to try out! Inside of it is new extended mini games that can be played after Mutating, with each having it's own systems and eventually unlocking a new upgrade chain that ties back into Mutation. Once you complete this section, you can finally tie together with Mutation and finish the game!

Developer Notes:

Overall I really enjoyed making the game, and while it wasn't perfect, it was a great learning experience for me to learn video game development, and about technologies I didn't know how to use before. Hope you enjoy playing the game.
