About This Game

Pax Astra is a political RPG focused on deep branching narrative and complete roleplaying freedom.

You play as the first elected President of Altara, a once-glorious empire built on supremacy and conquest, now left shattered after a devastating defeat. The war is over, but its consequences remain: economic collapse, political instability, and a population desperate for direction.

With a nation broken in both spirit and wealth, you must navigate a volatile political landscape filled with competing factions, hidden agendas, and ideological conflict.

Though Altara begins as a fragile democracy, nothing is guaranteed. Power can be reshaped, systems can be broken, and if you have the will, and the support, you may push the state toward more extreme forms of rule.

Embark on a political space opera saga shaped entirely by your choices.

In Pax Astra, you are free to follow any ideology, pursue any strategy, and define your own path to power. Manage politics, elections, crisis, economy external politics and more. Build an interdimensional exploration program, reach beyond the known galaxy, or delve into forbidden science—no path is off-limits.

Will you lead as a principled democrat, a ruthless dictator, or even something far more radical?

Choose any ideology. Be a liberal democrat, communist, fascist or libertarian; there are no boundaries to your political decisions.

Your decisions will determine not only the fate of Altara, but the future of the entire galaxy.

Inspired by titles like Suzerain, Stellaris, and The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, Pax Astra delivers a dense, choice-driven experience with meaningful consequences.

Beyond politics, the game features deep strategic systems. Manage your economy, develop industries, trade resources, and fund expeditions into the unknown regions beyond the galaxy. The game mixes a narrative branching rpg experience with modular strategy systems.

What you can do in Pax Astra:

  • Orchestrate coups and political takeovers

  • Follow democratic, communist, fascist—or entirely unique paths

  • Explore other dimensions and unknown space

  • Colonize distant planets

  • Build industries and manage trade networks

  • Engage in conspiracies, alliances, and political intrigue

  • Shape your leadership style any way you want

A mix of space opera with geopolitics inspired by real history!

Though the galaxy of Pax Astra branches into multiple sci-fi fantasy paths, its core narrative is grounded in real history and geopolitics. Altara begins in a state comparable to post-war Japan or Germany—a society emerging from radicalization, now forced into a fragile and unfamiliar democracy.

Pax Astra embraces political theory from both the left and the right, allowing you to shape your government through evolving edicts and ideological paths.

You may pursue a socialist direction through nationalization, expanded labor rights, anti-counterrevolutionary measures, and centralized economic planning. Alternatively, you can steer toward an authoritarian regime, consolidating executive power, building a cult of leadership, enforcing nationalistic propaganda, and pursuing colonial expansion.
