“The game is still in active development!
Putting the game into Early Access will allow fans of the game to give me feedback and opinions on future mechanics, battles, and content. It will also allow me to give people content to enjoy for the length of the time I spend writing and programing what's to come.
Early Access also lets me give players a more extended time in enjoying the game, while also giving people the option to hop into the story at any point in development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“From the start all the way to a finished product, my prediction would be a year or two of active development and content updates until all major layers and sublayers are finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What will absolutely be included:
- No less than 26 Major layers and 213 sublayers. If this number changes, it will be an increase.
- A finished, satisfied story.

What my goals are for the final game:
- 1,000 transformations
- 8 chapters
- Cooler, flashier boss battles
- More art
- More/complex battle mechanics
- More counter mechanics

What *might* be added:
- Music and sound
- Multiple endings
- More collectables

“We're currently on chapter 1 of 8.
3 / 26 Major layers built!
24 / 213 Sublayers built!
111 transformation scenes!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the full game will be slightly higher than the early access. The early access build is not a finished game, thus it shouldn't be priced as a finished game. The full game is planned to be *very* large and content heavy, and I would say worthy of its price for the content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Very directly!

Fans of the game, supporters, and general lovers of TF can join my Discord server and speak to me directly. I will be posting and updating about progress there as much as I can, so that transparency will never be an issue for how far along the game is.
I also post to my social media sites of various major updates to be as transparent in my progress and process as possible.”

The game features sexually explicit descriptions of the player protagonist transforming into various beasts, or being subjected to "bad-end" fates.
In most cases, the game frames these transformations as something the protagonist generally doesn't want, but no scene depicts realistic death, gore, or psychological horror.

There is an option to turn all transformation scenes safe-for-work, but the themes depicted are meant to be enjoyed by adult audiences.
All characters depicted in the game are adults.

Welcome to Shifter Labs 4.

You find yourself at the very bottom of a fathomlessly deep bunker, with nothing but your shirt and pants on, and definitely no memories of how you got there, or why you're here...but one thing is for certain: your very humanity is at risk.

The surface is over 200 sublayers above you. Within each layer are traps, puzzles, people, and monsters that all want one thing: your humanity. Around every corner is a risk of bursting out into feathers, your claws tearing through your shoes, a tail pushing out the bottom of your spine, a second, third, and fourth set of eyes. Along with that, a powerful family has their eyes on you as you climb the layers, willing to use you for their mysterious plan.

And on top of everything, where are you anyway?
It's clear you will not escape this bunker with your humanity intact...
...but is that what you really desire?

The Shifter Labs series is a set of adult, story-driven adventure games that can be played in any order that involve you exploring a fairly linear, segmented world filled with puzzles, characters, and traps. The aim of the game is to reach the end and escape wherever the player finds themselves, however the secondary goal of the game is to collect transformation scenes, which involve the player turning into various creatures…in not-safe-for-work styles.

You do not need to play the other three games to enjoy this one. Outside of some vague references or lore hints, all SL games are isolated stories that can be played in any order.

This is a NSFW game for adult furry audiences. It was made in Twine, and is a game that runs using HTML and JavaScript formatting. I was inspired by games like Changed to make a transformation-based adventure.
