Leaving Early Access: 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players to be able to try out the game early and give their feedback so that they can feel involved in the development of this game and shape its evolution. Feedback regarding difficulty, control intuitiveness, player abilities, bugs, and any other ideas people might have are all extremely welcome and encouraged. Our goal is to build a community of players who feel like they are apart of the worlds we are building and have a say in the direction these projects take and the ideas we explore. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming for full release towards the end of 2027. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“By the time we reach full release we are aiming to have new:
- Biomes to explore
- Player abilities and tools
- Creatures, entities, and characters
- Crafting recipes
- More
While supporting the game in Early Access players can expect to be able to try out new experimental features that may or may not make the cut in the final game. They will also be able to give their feedback as we try out new gameplay mechanics, biomes, and so on, and shape the development of Robowild. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Robowild is currently playable with 5 biomes (Isle Initia, The Robowilds, The Rift, Mushroom Megamesa, and Liminal Playground. The player is equipped with their Glider, Rifle, Camera, Building Mode, and many ammo types including the Nuke and Excavator (for terraforming). This will change and new features will be added over the months as we develop. The full game loop is already complete and includes foraging, crafting, unlocking new recipes for ammo and consumables, co-op, saved worlds, and more. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes the game is reduced price while in Early Access. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We encourage players to come and say hi on Discord. Discord is our main way to keep in touch with our players, and in there you will find channels for ideas, bug reports, and other feedback and suggestions. We are active in there and read every comment. Please also send us any clips, screenshots, streams etc. of Robowild. We are a very small studio and it makes our day to see people playing and enjoying our games! ”

About This Game

Play as a robot exploring a procedurally generated open world, equipped with a versatile smart parasol that can be used as a rifle, a glider, grapple, and more. Explore new biomes, collect plants and other material, hunt, defend yourself, build bases, furnish them, and craft new tools and abilities to explore further either solo or in co-op.

Adventure & Explore

Explore an endless procedurally generated open world made from biomes that get stranger the further from spawn you go. You'll come across caves, forests, liminal spaces, and strange biomes with effects ranging from heat, to corrosive atmospheres, and more. Forage peacefully in some, fight for your life in others.

Document & Learn

Use your camera to photograph anything in the game to learn about it and add it to your encyclopedia. There are tabs for creatures, entities, people, places, items, flora, and more. Fill out the collections to earn rewards, or just take photos for your own satisfaction.

Forage & Collect

Pick up flowers, mushrooms, ore, computer components, and more and use them to craft or build new things. Determine which plants and materials are useful for what, and craft things like coolant for your robot, software for your parasol to help you explore new places, or furniture and décor for your own home.

Build & Furnish

3D print building materials such as shipping containers to build bases to protect you from the elements, and then furnish them with chandeliers, pot plants, photos, paintings, and more. Or, use your building ability to weld rockets or build robots to traverse the world or fight on your behalf. A physics based building system where impact damage does not discriminate.

Tools & Abilities

  • Parasol: Doubles as a Glider and an Rifle. Collect ammo such as missiles, nukes, lasers, and more.

  • Camera: Take photos of things to learn about them and fill up all the missing entries in your encyclopedia. There are tabs for entities, flora, biomes, people, items, and places.

  • Excavator: Dig your own tunnels to help you reach and navigate underground caves, or blow up the terrain on the surface to drop your enemies into a hole or gain other advantage. The terrain is fully destructible.

  • Grabber: Pick up physics objects and move them around. Trees, shipping containers, even other robots. Use your environment to your advantage, i.e. building a bridge, using a sheet of metal to block an enemy attack, and so on.

  • Welder: Weld grabbed physics objects together to make homes, vehicles, machines, and more. i.e. Weld shipping containers together to make a home base, or weld a rocket to a sled to soar across the landscape.

  • Compactor: Compact your welded structures into an orb that can fit into your pocket. Travel across the world and bring your base or other creations with you.
