About This Software

Make the mod you always wanted

Give your favorite game a new mechanic, a new challenge, or a crossover you never expected. Describe your idea and work with an AI coding agent to make a mod you can test and play.

Free desktop workspace. AI assistance uses paid credits.

The underlying toolkit has powered homing missiles in Terraria, a custom Age of Empires II civilization, and a Minecraft × GTA V crossover. These projects predate the desktop app; they are examples of toolkit work, not bundled mods or one-click templates.

Describe it. Build it. Play it.

  • Describe your change. Choose a game you own and tell the agent what you want to make. Start small or pick up an existing mod project.
  • Build with the agent. Get help researching a modding route, writing code and working through build errors. Review changes and approve commands before they run.
  • Play and iterate. Set up the required loader, try the mod in your game, and bring errors or feedback back to the agent. Keep changing it until it plays the way you want.

Keep the source. Share the mod.

Your mod files stay in a local workspace with saved versions, so you can revisit an earlier experiment. Share a built package, editable source, or both, with a license and installation instructions. Browse Discover and build on another creator's source when their license allows it. Sharing uses Mod Anything's service, not Steam Workshop.

Before you start

Will my game work? Compatibility depends on the game, version and available loaders. Own and install your games separately. Review generated code, back up saves and test changes in-game. Anti-cheat-protected online clients are unsupported. Coding experience helps with ambitious projects.

What is free? Local game scans, project organization and bundled tools. Browsing releases, downloads and editable source copies do not require an account. AI inference and supported web searches use paid credits. No subscription is required.

Do I need an account or internet? AI coding and publishing require a Mod Anything account. AI, discovery and sharing need internet access.

What does the AI receive? Prompts and relevant file context selected by the agent are sent to the service and AI providers. Requests and generated output are moderated. Published releases are public. Games and game assets are not included; Mod Anything is independent of the games and storefronts shown.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Mod Anything includes an optional online AI coding agent that generates code, text and modding suggestions in response to your prompts. It can research public sources and use local workspace tools. AI requests and generated output are moderated. AI requests use credits and require an account and internet access. Some branding artwork in the app and on this store page was generated with AI. Screenshots show the actual application.

Connects to 3rd-Party Service for AI Content Generation: OpenAI and Anthropic (through Mod Anything)
