This add-on brings one of North America's most famous passenger trains to Trainz: ‘The Canadian’ from VIA Rail Canada. For decades, this legendary long-distance train has been synonymous with luxurious travel through some of the world's most spectacular landscapes – from the endless forests of Ontario to the vast prairies and the majestic Rocky Mountains.

The Canadian was introduced in 1955 by Canadian Pacific Railway and was considered one of the most modern passenger trains in the world at the time. Its distinctive stainless steel cars from the Budd Company and the famous panoramic cars (dome cars) quickly made it an icon of North American rail transport. The train has been operated by VIA Rail since 1978 and remains one of the most famous luxury trains in the world today.

This Trainz DLC recreates the classic train formation in detail. Included is the powerful VIA Rail F40PH-2D diesel locomotive and a complete fleet of Canadian carriages.

All vehicles include the advanced Pro Train features. These include dynamic dirt effects, so that the cars can become increasingly realistic in game operation. In addition, three different weather conditions are included – from clean to heavily used – so that trains can be displayed differently depending on their area of operation.

Furthermore, the vehicles have an optional alerter function and random radio chatter for added atmosphere during operation. Both functions are disabled by default and can be enabled if required. Further information on how to use these features can be found in the Trainz Wiki under ‘Pro Train’.
