What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re a small team of three people building this game with our own funds.

We have a lot of ideas and systems we want to implement- especially around simulating generations and city life. But we also understand that not everything we come up with will actually be fun or meaningful for players.

For us, Early Access is a way to build the game together with you. We want to understand which mechanics truly work, what should be expanded, and what needs to be changed - or even removed. And hopefully, discover ideas together that we wouldn’t have come up with on our own.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to stay in Early Access for around 6 to 12 months.

As our team is growing, the timeline may change - it will largely depend on the development process and the ideas and improvements we decide to pursue along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to gradually expand the game in several directions.

The full version should include more unique buildings for different generations, additional decorative elements, and deeper generation-based mechanics. We also plan to expand the city management system into a full cabinet of ministers (Early Access includes only a few departments).

In addition, we want to increase the scale of the game: introduce a global map, the ability to develop multiple cities, trade between them, different settings, and architectural styles inspired by various countries and cultures. We also plan to expand the diversity of the city’s population.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version already includes the core gameplay loop.

You can build a city for five generations, make management decisions, and observe how different generations interact with each other. The game includes generational conflict mechanics, random events (such as illness, fires, and unrest), as well as systems like public dissatisfaction and riots.

At the moment, the game includes 10 city parameters and 9 generation-specific parameters that influence development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may increase the price over time as new content and systems are added to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to build this game together with the community.

We’ll be closely following feedback, discussions, and how players interact with the game. This helps us understand what works well and what needs improvement.

We plan to use this feedback to improve existing mechanics and shape the direction of future development.”

About This Game

Build a City. Prepare It for the Experiment.

GENERATIONS: Utopia is a city-building strategy game about creating the ideal Soviet society inside a secret experiment conducted by a classified Soviet research institute.

Build a miniature city where five generations live side by side.

- Build your city

- Create comfortable living conditions

- Monitor your citizens' wellbeing

- Resolve generational conflicts

But building the city is only the beginning.

The real challenge starts when the Institute launches its next experiment.

A Living Generational Simulation

Silent Generation · Baby Boomers · Generation X · Millennials · Generation Z

Each generation has its own unique traits and nine individual parameters.

A disease outbreak will hit older generations the hardest, while Generation X endures it more easily, and Gen Z may barely notice it. But when famine strikes, the older generations survive far better thanks to their gardens and food reserves, while younger generations struggle. What saves one generation may break another.

The Institute's Experiment

The Institute is constantly testing your Utopia. Some experiments are known in advance, while others remain a complete surprise.

Once an experiment begins, you can no longer interfere. All you can do is watch as each generation reacts in its own way. Every outcome is recorded in the Institute's log. Failure isn't the end—it's valuable data.

After each experiment, the city remains exactly as it survived. Rebuild. Adapt. Prepare for the next test.

Your city. Their generations. The Institute's experiment.

Build the city. Balance the generations. Prepare for the unknown.
