About This Game

Shroomanoid is an action roguelite inspired by classic games like Arkanoid and Breakout, where your character acts like a ball of fury.

  • Fight enemies and powerful bosses

  • Equip armor sets to get stronger

  • Merge abilities to create new ones

  • Turn enemies into fertilizer and build your mushroom forest base

Features:

  • Shroomanoid never stops; it dashes, bounces, and deals damage to everything around it.

  • Unique control system: the character moves on its own like a ball of fury, and you influence its path through abilities and platform hits.

  • Unique Level-Up System inspired by a slot machine. Each character has its own set of upgrades.

  • A variety of enemies: they differ not just in HP and damage, but each has its own unique traits and behavior.

  • A variety of armor sets, each granting a unique ability, along with the option to craft especially powerful sets.

  • Many different relics, some of which significantly change the gameplay.

  • Weather affects gameplay: Rain extinguishes burning enemies, snow makes them slide and easier to knock off, strong winds can blow the character away, and thunderstorms may strike with sudden lightning.

  • Power-ups are diverse, affecting gameplay differently when collected by the character or the platform.

  • Deep meta-progression with base-building. The key feature: you can’t just max out everything and become overpowered. Bonuses need to be activated, and you can’t activate them all at once. The bonus system isn’t just about power-ups — it’s about choosing a gameplay style, since boosting some stats weakens others. As a result, the game always stays challenging, but remains beatable even without meta-progression.

  • An event system where your choices don’t guarantee a specific outcome. Each choice can lead to multiple possibilities, preventing you from simply memorizing all events and always picking the same options — instead, you must decide based on the situation.

  • Every run is unique. Levels are procedurally generated, and a variety of relics, armor sets and bonuses alter the gameplay, making each new playthrough different from the previous one.

  • If the game feels too easy, you can challenge yourself with ascensions and additional challenges
