What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Compound Interest already has its complete core progression loop, but its large number of interacting systems creates a substantial balancing challenge. Early Access will help refine progression, improve clarity, expand the available strategies, and shape the endgame using real player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6–12 months, depending on player feedback and the amount of balancing and refinement required.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand the current library of 45 compounds, deepen the endgame, develop more element traits into meaningful mechanics, and further refine progression, automation, onboarding, readability, accessibility, audio, and overall presentation. Community feedback will help determine which additions and improvements receive the most attention.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game is playable through repeated Big Bang prestige cycles. It currently includes all 118 elements, 45 craftable compounds, dynamic fusion, compound loadouts and synergies, decay chains, reaction events, research and repeatable upgrades, automation, table-completion bonuses, save/load, and up to 24 hours of offline progress. A tutorial, objective guidance, help system, settings, music, and sound effects are also implemented. Balance, endgame depth, and some element traits remain works in progress.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access. The price may increase as additional content, features, and polish are added and the game approaches its full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to use Steam Community discussions to collect bug reports, progression feedback, balance suggestions, and ideas for new compounds and strategies. Player experiences, especially where progression feels unclear, slow, or overly dominant will directly inform priorities throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

Build the Periodic Table

Compound Interest is a chemistry-themed incremental game about turning Hydrogen into an increasingly complex production engine.

Generate Energy and Matter, collect elements, and work your way across all 118 spaces of the periodic table. Completing periods, groups, and blocks grants bonuses and opens new paths through the game.

Find Your Own Fusion Paths

Fusion follows one rule: atomic numbers add together. Two Hydrogen make Helium. Three Lithium make Fluorine. Any combination that reaches a valid element can work, giving you different ways to use what you have and push further up the table.

Build with Compounds

Craft 45 compounds based on real chemical formulas, then equip them to shape your production. Compounds share tags such as Oxide, Organic, Crystal, and Fuel. Combining related tags creates synergies, while certain loadouts can trigger Combustion, Crystallization, Corrosion, and Explosions.

Radioactive elements decay into other elements and release Energy along the way. Research unlocks automation, isotope variants, stabilization, and lasting upgrades. When progress slows, trigger a Big Bang, earn Cosmic Dust, and begin again with permanent bonuses.

The game continues while closed, with up to 24 hours of offline progress.
