Acerca de este juego

Two space miners get trapped inside a corporate time loop nightmare.

Coffee gets brewed.

Hilarity ensues.

Inspirations

Quantum Coffee Conundrum is a kinetic visual novel focused on immersive sound and atmosphere, set up like a stage play, offering a dark comedy and reverent pastiche to the Golden Age of Philosophical Science Fiction, in an attempt to blend the industrial cynicism of Harlan Ellison to the Absurdist conflict of Albert Camus and the reality-warping paranoia of Philip K. Dick.

Other direct inspirations involve the body of work of Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse Five), Miguel de Cervantes (Don Quixote), Arturo Pérez-Reverte (The Club Dumas), and more. Think of Brazil by filmmaker Terry Gilliam mixed with the Waiting for Godot Absurdist play by Samuel Beckett.

Synopsis

During a mundane asteroid mining job, two space miners get trapped inside a corporate time loop nightmare.
Their only way out is to argue and bicker to stay sane, all the while drinking a copious amount of coffee.

Set on a grimy corporate mining ship, QCC is a reinterpretation of the time loop genre featuring gallows humor, existential dread, a broad look into Absurdist philosophy and the rise of AI in our current times.

The story and banter follow a meta narrative where characters eventually attempt to reclaim authorship over the narrator to break free out of their fate which was sealed the moment the game started.

Descripción del contenido para adultos

Los desarrolladores describen su contenido así:

This work of Philosophical theory of Absurdism and Science Fiction is intended for a mature audience. Includes suggestive themes, a non-graphic written depiction of a tooth injury, sexual innuendos, fictional slurs directed at artificial intelligence to satirize bureaucratic control and social hierarchies, and blue-collar gallows humor employed to cope with anxieties about the unquantifiable. In the tradition of Albert Camus and his Myth of Sisyphus, Quantum Coffee Conundrum tackles the "only truly serious philosophical problem." The story examines the concept of the 'philosophical suicide' -- the surrender of the mind to dogma or despair -- within the claustrophobic time loop of a corporate nightmare. These concepts are central to the work's exploration of Absurdism and the human struggle for meaning in a silent universe. QCC explores themes of existential dread, faith, systemic collapse within a corporate hell setting and madness caused by the erosion of reality. Features heavy socio-political satire regarding real-world technology and postmodern society. They do not represent the personal views, beliefs, or values of the author.
