About This Game

In PODER, there are no clean victories. Only compromises, consequences, and choices you may come to regret.

You are a district manager in a Latin American megacity. 12 million people, five political parties, 5 backstories, 75 population groups. Party leadership reminds you who put you in that chair. Business elites expect favorable decisions. The people demand justice. And your rivals are counting the days until you slip up.

You fix a road — downtown demands a school. You block a corrupt contract — the party cuts your funding. You back a developer — the neighborhood remembers. Pleasing everyone is impossible, and the consequences will come whether you're ready or not.

THE CHOICE YOU LIVE WITH

Before you even start, you shape your fate. Backstory, party, district — over a hundred combinations, each creating a unique starting situation.

  • Businessman arrives with money and connections, but to ordinary people he's an outsider with clean hands.

  • Activist knows the district inside out, but in the offices they see him as a threat.

  • Doctor walks in with trust, but without a single political ally.

  • Ex-Military knows how to talk short and act tough, and that's exactly why half the population hates him.

  • Union Leader is used to pushing hard, but the elites see him as a populist.

Your party determines who has your back — and what they'll demand in return.

Your district determines what crisis you'll face from the very first minutes: debt, crime, crumbling infrastructure, or all three at once.

A tough starting choice turns the early game into a test of survival. An easy one gives you a chance to rise.

A CITY THAT DOESN'T FORGIVE

In PODER there are no abstract "citizens." There are 75 specific population groups: by income, age, and beliefs.

  • Young liberals vote for reform — until reform hits their neighborhood.

  • Retirees value order — as long as you deliver it.

  • Workers support whoever doesn't forget their district, and turn away the moment they feel ignored.

Every group reacts to your actions, not your words. They remember what you promised. And they compare promises to results.

The city doesn't wait for you to figure things out. Morning — a water main bursts across three blocks. By noon — a spontaneous protest. By evening — a call from a party boss with "friendly advice." And it never stops. Solving one problem almost always creates another.

NO "RIGHT" PATH

PODER is not propaganda. The game won't tell you which ideology is best.

Privatize everything or nationalize it.

Play by the rules or play dirty.

Build your career honestly or climb over others.

The game only shows what happens next. Sometimes immediately. Sometimes much later, when you've already forgotten how it all started. The most effective path isn't always the most honest one. And the most honest one sometimes leads to failure.

FROM DISTRICT TO CITY HALL

The district is just the beginning. Manage it well and new opportunities open up. But with every promotion, decisions get more expensive and enemies multiply. Everyone is sure they could do better than a real politician.

PODER doesn't argue — it lets you try.
