Miksi Early Access?

Early Access is a good opportunity to see what features players prefer, how they find the game's difficulty and what aspects they especially like. Dry Meadow will be a balance of survival and action, and thus, player feedback regarding these things will be very helpful.

Dry Meadow will be in early access for about one to two years.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

We plan to expand the game and shape existing gameplay in direction the players prefer, without altering the core of what's already present in Early Access.

The full version is planned to include:

- 8-9 levels with approximately one hour gameplay each.

- Expanded enemy and weapon roster of about 7-9 unique weapons and large number of varied enemy encounters.

- More items and crafting recipes.

- More locations and environments, varying from underground bunkers to forests, swamps and small towns.

- Full story and expanded lore of the game's world.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

Three playable levels with most game features in place, albeit lacking final detailing. Crafting, weapons, enemy encounters, traps (hideout defense), day/night cycle, and other essential core elements are already in place. There is roughly three to four hours of gameplay.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

The game will be priced higher at full release. Early access price will remain the same for the duration of development.

Dry Meadow is an atmospheric old-school FPS with emphasis on narrative journey, set in an alternative history at Finland's border to Soviet Russia. Drawing inspiration from exemplars such as Stalker, Doom and Half-Life, it aims to push the janky gzdoom-engine to its limits in order to bring forth all the best (and perhaps the worst) aspects of aforementioned classics, while retaining an identity of its own.

Story synopsis: A catastrophe of unknown proportions - known as the particle wave - from the USSR has sent large portions of south-eastern Finland into disarray. Journey through altered lands in search of the origin of this disaster, while investigating the myriad bizarre effects it has left in its wake. You are alone in your mission, but perhaps there are people still trapped in the zone of alienation who might offer to share their stories.

Gameplay: A blend of shooter and survival, elements and environments play a role equal to the dangerous monsters of the land. Build fires at dusk for warmth and light, craft traps at dawn to survive another day. Watch for daylight's fast waning as you make decisions whether to venture out after dark, or play it safe huddling near a fire. Slowly make your way through beautiful but desolate landscapes in locations varying from abandoned towns to foggy swamps and silent forests. Look for clues about what has happened to the world and listen to nightly radio broadcasts to keep up with the unfolding events.
