Airship Armada delivers high-fantasy aerial battles in a board-game-like style. Its story follows the fates of brave airship captains as they face the dangers of world shattered by a magical apocalypse.

Though it is said that the ancients lived in an era of miracles and abundance, the few survivors of the Shattering have had to rebuild from devastated ruins.

Now, as centuries of storms at last recede, new nations arise and cast their eyes to the ocean of sky surrounding their fragmented islands.

It is an age of incredibly opportunity and fierce rivalry. Explorers seek ancient secrets and new discoveries hidden among the shards of the past.

We are a tiny indie team who’ve been working together on the corporate side of games for over 17 years. We finally went indie so that we could build the kind of game that inspired us to make games in the first place. We hope to earn the kind of audience that only comes when you are true to your inspiration.

The Airship Armada Story

Various incarnations of Airship Armada have been in development for decades. The original concept dates back over twenty years. Even as the idea of a fleet battle game evolved, founders Alex and Nate fleshed out the Broken World with two full-length RPG campaigns. We've always loved the portrayal of airships in high fantasy and wondered why no one ever made a game focused on commanding these awesome vehicles!

We’re fans of high fantasy RPGs like Final Fantasy, as well as tactics and tabletop games like Final Fantasy Tactics, MechWarrior, and Warmachine. We’re also inspired by new indie tactics successes like The Banner Saga and Tactical Breach Wizards. You’ll see learnings from all of these games and more in Airship Armada, though its core mechanics are uniquely its own!
