About This Game

Wyrm Saga is a "Coin-based" Roguelike Deckbuilding game set in the world of illuminated manuscripts - Play as a Dragon, hoard Coins, execute powerful Combos, defeat fearsome Foes, evolve and adapt to become Legend or die trying!

Wyrm Saga combines the typical turn-based combat and deck building mechanics we all love with an escalating combo system that rewards the tactical placement of coins.

Progression: From rumor to legend

In Wyrm Saga you take on the role of folklore’s most infamous creature: The dragon.
Choose to play as one of 3 baby dragons, each with their own unique skills and distinct visual design:

Wyrm: A small serpentine dragon with stubby wings that uses its long body to bind and constrict its Foes.

Drake: A stout 4-legged dragon with a bad temper and brutish fighting style that likes to set things on fire.

Guivre: A sly feathered dragon with sharp claws that likes to inflict ailments while avoiding damage.

Grow your powers and evolve your dragon into one of 6 fearsome Adult Forms with powerful abilities to conquer the land and go down in legend.

A Coin-based Deck Builder

While other games have you gather cards for your deck, in Wyrm Saga you hoard coins!
Players must not only consider the effects of their coins but also their shape. Each coin when played is placed on the playing field where it interacts with other coins and the environment to trigger combos and additional effects. In order to defeat tough foes, players need to strategize and skillfully choose where to place each coin.
With hundreds of Coins to choose from the combinations are endless!

Hoard: More is always better

A Dragons Hoard is its power and more is always better. In Wyrm Saga Coins cannot be removed from the deck once they have been added but Dragons know how to use this to their advantage:

Upgrades: 3 of the same coin get combined into 1 stronger upgraded Coin.

Stash: Store a limited amount of coins in your stash so that don't appear in your deck during play and retrieve them in opportune moments for maximum effect.

Mutations: Bizarre Powers

Dragons can be improved further through bizarre Mutations that augment your playstyle and permanently alter their appearance. Want to improve your dragons bite power? Use the "Beast Face" mutation to give it a fearsome wolf head that increases its bite power! You are taking to much damage? Use the "Feather Hide" mutation to lower the impact of each attack against you.

Roaming the ancient world: Tactical Hexagon Map

The map in Wyrm Saga acts not only as a hub connecting events and encounters, but a tactical challenge in and of itself. Tiles can belong to different biomes each with a variety of events, encounters, environmental hazards and rewards. There are limited resources on each map and the difficulty level rises as more tiles are claimed. Only a certain number of tiles can be completed and claimed before the boss appears, so choose your path wisely!

Unlock the past: Expansive bestiary

The bestiary is an extensive compendium of knowledge and a source collection that corresponds to the art featured in Wyrm Saga. Progressing through the game, defeating enemies and earning rewards unlocks bestiary entries. Learn interesting facts about each artwork, see their historical origins and view examples from ancient illuminated manuscripts. The more you play, the more you unlock, the more you learn!

Replayability: Endless possibilities

Thanks to the way randomization works in Wyrm Saga, no two playthroughs are ever the same. Each playable dragon has their own abilities, coins and adult forms with different gameplay styles. There are so many coins to collect, events to complete and enemies to defeat that it’s simply impossible to see everything after completing the game just once. Curios and mutations provide various abilities and handicaps that further diversify each run. Finally, modifiers and unlockable difficulty levels truly ensure endless replayability.
