What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“AstroFrame is currently a student project. We are looking for more feedback as we begin our careers as game developers. Early Access allows us to get our work out so that we can continue to iterate on our project with help from the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimate is for 6 months to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is meant to showcase the core mechanics of our game. We plan to expand upon this foundation significantly by adding more ship rooms, diverse enemy AI behaviors, and a complete campaign. We also aim to polish the UI and balance the power management systems based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version features fully functional ship movement, basic combat mechanics, and the foundation of our building system. Players can currently explore the starting zones, pilot the ship, and build with a limited selection of room modules. It is a playable experience but lacks the later-game content and variety of encounters planned for the full release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the game will be Free to Play during Early Access and is planned to remain Free to Play upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We value our community and playtesters' feedback. Please join the community on Discord via the button In Game. This feedback will impact the features prioritized for the full released as well as improve the quality of the final game. This project is a learning process for the development team, the community can help in improving the game by reporting bugs or submitting feedback in-game.”

About This Game

Explore. Destroy. Build.

Welcome to the engineer’s seat. AstroFrame is a 2D sci fi roguelike where your progression depends on your ingenuity. The cosmos is teeming with unforgiving pirates and a faction of Sun-Eaters. To survive, you will need a ship that can handle any situation-and who is better to build it than you!

Challenging Combat

Fight against the evil faction of suneaters as they seek to consume the stars above our heads. Use your custom ship to fight challenging enemies.

Hex-Based Ship Construction

AstroFrame at its core is a deep intuitive hex grid building tool.

  • Modular Components: Connect vital systems like turrets, shields, or engines to the reactor.

  • Power Management: Before (or during) combat set the power of the systems in your ship to best handle the situation at hand.

  • Grow your Ship: Add each room onto the ship to grow your ship, limited only by the strength of your engines and the power to push your floating home across the galaxy.
