What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Oddslinger is built around an engine-building loop: crafting packs, tuning card weights, automating runs, and Rewinding to push further. Early Access lets us ship the core experience sooner and then improve it with real player feedback—especially on balance, progression pacing, and which upgrades/era mechanics feel the most fun and meaningful. We also want to iterate quickly on quality-of-life features (UI clarity, settings, accessibility, and performance) based on how people actually play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Oddslinger to remain in Early Access for roughly 9–18 months, depending on feedback and how long it takes to polish pacing, add content across Eras, and finalize long-term progression.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to expand Oddslinger in several directions:

* More content across Eras (additional mechanics, upgrades, and progression options per Era).
* More cards and pack variety, including more affixes/rarities and new ways to shape your deck engine.
* Deeper Rewind / meta-progression, with more long-term goals and build paths.
* More challenges and endgame depth (additional objectives, tuning targets, and replay incentives).
* More polish and QoL, including UI/UX improvements, balancing, and accessibility options.

We’ll use community feedback to prioritize what gets added and refined first.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a playable, content-complete foundation focused on the core loop:

* Craft card packs, pick from multiple options, and grow your deck.
* Tune per-card weights, optimize your build, and automate runs with the Auto Dealer.
* Progress through distinct Eras (starting with Fantasy), chase records, and use logs/stats to optimize.
* Rewinding is included as the core long-term progression pillar.

We are continuing to refine balance, pacing, clarity, and quality-of-life based on testing.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game more affordable during Early Access and may increase the price gradually as we add significant new content and features on the way to full release. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll actively use community feedback to guide updates and priorities. Players can:
* Report bugs and share balancing feedback in the Steam Community hub.
* Suggest features, cards, and upgrade ideas, and vote on what should be prioritized.
* Share builds and strategies that help us tune progression pacing and difficulty.
We plan to post regular update notes and use community discussions to shape upcoming patches and content additions.”

About This Game

Oddslinger is a poker-driven idle deckbuilder where every hand makes you stronger — if you build the right deck engine.

Start by playing hands manually, then unlock the Auto Dealer and let your run print chips while you make the important decisions: what to add, what to tune, and what to cut.

Build your deck like a machine

  • Craft card packs at the Scribe Desk and choose 1 card out of 3–5 options each time.

  • New cards start at Weight 5 — then it’s on you to shape what shows up.

  • Improve your odds over time with more choices, rarity upgrades, and affixed cards.

Weight tuning

Every card instance has a Weight — a per-card “draw likelihood” knob (not copies).
Reroll weights with Stitch, and later remove dead cards with Trim when you want a leaner, meaner engine.

Chase records, learn, optimize

  • Big, readable hand results with satisfying feedback — plus a “NEW RECORD!” moment when you spike a best run.

  • Track your best hands in the Record Log and watch Hand Frequency shift as your deck evolves.

Eras (Fantasy → 60–90s → Neon)

Play through distinct ErasFantasy, 60–90s, and Neon — each with its own look and progression flavor, while the core deck-engine loop stays the same.

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:
