What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to develop the game incrementally, with major focus on building features requested from the community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 1 year, with cyclic updates after first release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Plan for the full version: multiplayer experience (over LAN), adding modding possibility, so community can change the game mechanics, influence the development, and extend life of the game after initial release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version include core sandbox single player experience on a 3D FPP playable and freely explorable planetary surfaces.

Game already features core systems:
- reactive terrain, fluid transport, debris and forces, tepmperature and humidity transfer, dynamic weather and day night cycle
- planetary developement (tech tree, player progression)
- player management (statistics, inventory, skills)

The game is stable and functional as vanila sandbox, but additional systems, balancing, UI improvements, and other gameplay layers are still in development.

Players purchasing now can fully experiment with the sandbox simulation, but should expect ongoing improvements and additional mechanics over time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly influence feature priorities, balancing decisions, and new system design.

Planned community involvement includes:
Steam Discussions for feature feedback and bug reports
Public development updates - posted on Youtube!
Polls to prioritize future systems (e.g., expanded atmospheric mechanics, cooperative play, advanced ecosystem simulation).
Iterative balancing based on player experimentation results

Because Strata is a systemic sandbox, community discoveries and emergent behaviors will help shape future development direction.”

About This Game

Game features procedurally generated open-world universes, each containing hundreds of star systems, each with multiple explorable planets. On the planet surface you explore the world in 3rd person perspective.

Game does not aim to recreate our universe! It uses simplified mechanics from our universe to construct deep, engaging and meaningful gameplay. Strata focuses on physically-driven processes instead of scripted gameplay loops.
