About This Content

Pro Train – The Eastern Branch

In the late 19th and early 20th century, the relentless expansion of the North American railroad network pushed ever deeper into the rugged landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and towards the Canadian border.
What began as separate regional rail projects has now grown into one large, continuous rail corridor, connecting mountain passes, fertile highlands and vast forest valleys into a single, operational network.

This combined route links Badgers Pass, the Eastern Range and the Sequoia Valley, allowing for long-distance operations across diverse terrain and enabling complex industrial supply chains that span the entire region including the new Amtrak Phase VII Superliners livery.

From Mountain Passes to High Pastures

Badgers Pass

At Badgers Pass, heavy freight trains fight their way through impressive mountain scenery.
The lines over Badgers Pass and Frinton Pass serve demanding wood and resource industries, where raw materials must be delivered reliably to keep sawmills and facilities running. Steep gradients and winding tracks make operations here a true challenge for both freight trains and motive power.

Eastern Range

Descending into the Eastern Range, the landscape opens into wide high pastures and agricultural regions.
After a renaissance of sustainable farming, the region shifted almost all transport of grain, dairy products and foodstuffs to rail. A dense network of farms, processing facilities and distribution hubs creates a steady flow of goods, supported by reservoirs and extensive hydroelectric power that make the region largely self-sufficient.

Into the Sequoia Valley

The journey continues through Elk Canyon, Fox Canyon and along the Elk River, finally reaching the spectacular Sequoia Valley.
Engineers overcame dramatic changes in elevation with tunnels, hairpin bends and impressive engineering structures to connect Fox City, Wilmington and Sequoia Falls.

Here, a highly interconnected industrial network awaits, offering some of the most demanding and rewarding freight operations on the entire route.

Deep, Connected Gameplay

Because all three regions are fully interconnected, the route enables:

  • Long-distance freight runs across multiple regions

  • Complex industrial chains, from raw resources to finished goods

  • Meaningful logistics planning instead of isolated point-to-point hauling

  • A living economic environment where industries depend on each other

Modern Passenger Operations Included

Alongside classic and heavy freight duties, the route also supports modern long-distance passenger services.
The brand-new Amtrak Superliner Phase VII is fully integrated, allowing you to run contemporary passenger trains across this historic rail corridor – a striking contrast between modern comfort and pioneering railroad heritage.
