Miksi Early Access?

Echoes of Nox is in a state where much of the core gameplay loop is functional, but some systems are not fully operational. The goal with early access is to provide an opportunity for players to try the game and find issues with the gameplay loop or other systems while development is still in progress. This way, upon the full release, we can ensure the game is in the best state possible.

We expect the game to be in early access for no more than a few months. There are no exact timelines, but the current goal is to exit early access by the end of Q3 2026

The full version of the game is planned to have better visual graphics, bug fixes, and a refined gameplay loop. On top of this, the game's narrative and progression is planned to be polished. That being said, the game will overall play and feel very similar to this early access release.

The early access version of the game has most of the systems that are planned to be in the full game, including the central system of territory control. That being said, the gameplay loop is unrefined and still being worked on. The progression and narrative also still require work. Along with this, there are several bugs in the game we are working to iron out.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We are not planning to change the price when we leave early access. Buy now, or wait for the full release. There is no pressure!

We want players to help us find Bugs, issues with the gameplay loop, and problems with progression or narrative. They can do this on discussion boards, or by joining the official Echoes of Nox dicord server.

The moon of Nox sat lifeless for decades. Amidst a failing space station, three rogue AIs are locked into an eternal stalemate battling for ever-waning resources. You wake up with no recollection of your past life, only questions. Take back territory from the robots as you explore the station. Find new tools and equipment that unlocks new paths and methods of traversal. Uncover lore and find out what happened to Nox, the true purpose of the station, and your place in the chaos.

CONTROL territory and reclaim the station

The faction system is a central mechanic to Echoes of Nox. Each room is able to be controlled by an enemy “faction,” the player included. As you fight through the wings of the run-down station, the territory you control influences secrets hidden within rooms, and weakens the eventual AI Mainframes that you encounter.

FIGHT OFF rogue AI

There are four bespoke weapons the player can unlock in Echoes of Nox, and use against the malfunctioning enemies on station. Each enemy has a “spark window,” where all incoming damage is doubled, and should an elemental effect be applied to an enemy in this window, certain effects occur.

The elemental system encourages the player to interact with enemies in different ways, and promotes creativity with how you approach certain situations. The elements include Ice, Fire, and Electric, and interact with each other in various different manners.

DISCOVER new tools and equipment

Unlock new weapons and methods of traversal as you progress in the game. Every corner of the station has something different for the player to discover and help them on their journey through the derelict station. Each weapon the player unlocks allows for them to access new areas and shortcuts, continually recontextualizing the map as the game progresses.

UNCOVER the Echoes of Nox

Not all is as it seems on Nox. Echoes of a distant past litter the deserted passageways of the station: logs scattered from old researchers and civilians, ruminations from AI Mainframes, and a terrible secret that underlies the fate of the station and humanity at large.
